Hardy 18, which i aquired on sat, she has a old mercury 650 engine, puffing away, and on the button, but I would like a smaller four stroke engine (easy on the pocket) for tooting around Lough Erne, small knots but with a little poke. So question is what HP would be enough strength and long or short shaft. Any help would…

I have seen Honda 4 strokes on the back of these in the past - not sure of engine size though, depends what you want the boat to do for you really.
