    http://www.igniq.com/2010/08/23/intel-i7-massive-price-cuts/
on the 30th of August, the Core i7 950 (LGA1366, 3.06 GHz, quad-core) which is currently retailing for $564 on Amazon.com will be slashed to $294, effectively replacing the i7 930.

OverClockers.co.uk already has the processor listed for £234.99 on pre-order.

Just a heads up for anyone buying now to wait a few days. I think a big price cut at the top will hopefully have ripple effect on the lower end processors.

It could just be because the i7-870/950 are mindblowingly poor value. The dual-cores may fall a bit too, again as they're not very good value. I suspect the i5-760 will stay static, but as its already at the former i5-750's price point that's not too bad :)

In every other article it said the cuts were coming in September, not August...

Only about £25 more than a 930 but actually normally than less £25 as 930 is on special.

how much better is the 950 compared to the 930 anyway? i probably wont be buying my parts for another 2 weeks anyway so il see what happens (hoping pixmania drop it as thats where im buying from)

Its two bins higher, although some say it gives even better, cooler OCs. Kinda logical given the silicon is better binned from the start ;)

elara have them for a tad under 300 euro, same price as overlcockers give or take a few cent.

Unsurprising, given the Phenom II X6 is priced at $200. The i7 did not represent performance for price.
