    tired after Wednesday??

One has to wonder if the boys were out a bit too late on Wednesday night . Just not good enough no excuses can cover that performance.

havent felt like this in a long time. 3 point lost to a team that has conceded 10 goals in the past 2 prem games

same as stoke. same as wolves home and away. same as portsmouth. we come into games as overwhelming favorites and end up defeated. the main problem was fatigue i guess these players are not capable of playing two games a week. remember when we beat wigan 9-1 we lost our next home game 0-1 to wolves. it seams we have huge trouble breaking down small teams when we go behind.

Lads I know today was bad but we always have two or three of these every season. I'am just glad this didnt happen last wednesday.

Tired. Missing guile of Modric and the sheer ineptitude of Cuidicini cost us. Of course, Wigan should have scored before Rodellega, but Carlo is simply rubbish. We shouldnt be as exposed as we are when Gomes gets injured. Wigan defended well and double up on Lennon and Bale forcing Wilson and Huddlestone to play through the middle. They arent the players to pick the lock. Still have plenty to learn and maybe will scare Levy into getting one or two players in.

shocking preformance and result for us today. harry looked well pissed at the end and in the post match interview he wasnt happy. it was inevitable that we were going to be brought back down to earth.

we need more players, and fast

just saw the goal there, an absolute disaster to give away. ball barely moving and carlo misses it. he is a disaster of a keeper

Correct, and negative im sure they are. Crap result. Some will be all nice and make excuses, but there is none, Absolute rubbish.

Why did we not make more changes and freshen things up. Keane for example is chomping at the bit.

Was it a case of the charlies celebrating too much, i hope not, but who knows ?

Im fuming, but I bet several of the players are not, and thats what gets to me.

    Lord,i need a few beers.

on next in th epremiershp. im dreading watching it. the amount of abusive text messages i got today wasnt even funny.(for me anyway!)

Desperate result.. but how many of us are actually shocked by it?

It was on the cards after our mid week game and celebrations.

Unfortunetly its something we might have to get used to this season if we are going to be playing so many mid week games. Im sure we wont perform like that every sat/sun after a CL mid week game but its bound to happen a few more times.

I'm a little happier about this than other results last year - Wolves/Stoke. Its relative. But Ive seen so many false dawns at Spurs that its often something wrong mentally that cause them to lose these games. Today, I dont think it was mental.

I dont think we were good enough. Full stop. What we were screaming for was a top class midfielder, a proper attacking central midfielder. We were exposed. We have relied on Bale and Lennon to create for so long. Krancjar came on but stayed wide, presumably Harry wanted Bale to overlap. Wigan stopped the wings from contributing, and Palacios (off-form) and Huddlestone (off-form today) werent good enough to find the solution.

Hopefully Sandro will provide more but is more of a defending midfielder, but time is ticking to find the right player. We need a second option to Modric. Robbie and Gio arent the answer.

United have Scholes, Arsenal have Fabregas, we would be scratching around in the next tier below - Ireland/Arteta/ and maybe even Pienaar could have added something to our team. Its not often that the wings are clamped down as well as Wigan did, but we are short there in certain circumstances.

For all that, Cudicini still cost us a point.

arsenal have fabregas etc. thats true and we have modric, he is injured and we miss him, the same way that arsenal are only half a team without fabregas.

keane wont play for spurs again, he is gone for sure . it all started with keane the twat decided to go behind harrys back and organise a piss up in dublin before the wolves defeat in december. he has no one to blame for the demise of his spurs career except himself. harry dosent have time for alcohol and made that clear, robbie chose to ignore that, his choice.

he will prob go to west ham in exchange for parker . he lost it with joe jordan when defoe who was injured was started against young boys, it was the final nail in the coffin. harry is going for pav every time now and he has no time for him either :-) that just shows how far down the pecking order keane is

where would parker play? not sure, modric and hudd in the centre or is harry planning on putting bale back full back? hope not as wigans goal came from that side yesterday. we have sandro as well dont forget and jenas

Agree. On too much money to ever leave. Just need to write him off. I actually think O'Hara might not have been the worst option yesterday in the centre. Shame about the injury.

First off a little respect for a current Spurs player and somebody who has scored over a century of goals for this club wouldn't go amiss.

Secondly if Harry has a real problem with drink then he should show some consistency and punish everyone who went on that trip, Keane didn't hold a gun to anybody's head.

I agree Ronan, and I have huge admiration for everything Rob has done for us. I even know some of his family, but it was a stupid thing to do, and I dont think harry has been willing to forgive and forget, and it has gone against Robbie ever since it happened imo.

he punished keane as keane came back into spurs as club captain. harry is always saying players shouldnt drink during the season and then the captain organises a piss up less than a week before a big game (which we lost incidentally) .

ronan - just cos keane has scored 100 goals for spurs over his many years there dosent mean i have to fall at his feet and respect him now. i did respect him but that was lost when he left us to join his boy hood heroes, came back and disrepected the managers ideals, i for one think he shouldnt be there and it looks like it will that way come tuesday evening.

It's not as if he was like the Kildare and Down players who played their hearts out in Croke Park today - he was on £60k+ a week (probably a lot more, don't really know how much) when he scored his 100 goals.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,361 ✭✭✭Morgans

The only problem Keane has is that he isnt as good as Defoe. If he was better, he would start and play more. To take over as Berbatov's partner for Jol in front of Defoe was Robbie at his peak. Great player for the club, but unfortunately with his wages, age and possible transfer fee, the one that Harry can do gain most by selling at the moment.

    I said respect, not worship.

It is possible to be respectful to somebody you do not like, for example I think calling one of our players a twat is a pretty twatish thing to do, but I wouldn't call you a twat for doing it.

And if 'Arry doesn't like drinking during the season why hasn't Ledley been turfed out on his arse? His continued inclusion in our team on a one-game-in-three basis arguably damages the team in the long term by denying Seb and Dawson the chance to develop a working relationship.

I hope for everyone's sake we manage to get a new striker in by Tuesday, because the cold shoulder Keane is getting can only hurt us if we're left with a half-crocked Defoe and two big units as our striking options.

They're all on big money, that doesn't diminish the achievement.

i honestly dont understand the anti keane fans at spurs. i think he is still a quality player. his link up play movement and overall team play is better than ANY of the present strikers at the club in my opinion. fair enough, in a one on one with the keeper i would take defoe over him any day but defoe is just one demisional i think. head down n shoot. great when he scores but how often do u see someone in a better position after a shot is blocked or gone wide.
i for one will be very disappointed if we sell keane. harry obviously has made his mind up playing a half fit defoe in the last 2 games ahead of robbie.

(dont mind my username, i was bitter at the time!)

Point I was making was that he was very well paid for what he did at Spurs, not like he did it out of the goodness of his heart or anything.
