The only band from the above list I have heard of is Metallica !
    She must be right........

Most of the bands I listed are fairly underground and would be hard to hear about. However surprised you haven't heard of Biffy Clyro, Gojira, Mastodon, Machine Head, Tool etc.

I'm suprised you didn't choose 'In The Nightside Eclipse and Anthems to The Welkin at Dusk' by Emperor, Dusk And Her Embrace' by Cradle of Filth, Enthrone Darkness Triumphant/Spiritual Black Dimensions by Dimmu Borgir and 'De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas' over those other albums, as they are far far superior. I know it's a case of each to their own, but I also thought that 'The Butterfly Effect' was very dissapointing. I personally think that 'Wolfheart, Irreligious and Night Eternal' are the best albums by Moonspell, but each to their own.

I forgot and i must add

Ulver - Bergatt (muscianship on this record is outstanding, contains hypnotic folky parts and melodic interludes and then you are bludgeoned with bits of ferocious pummeling black metal, i had the pleasure of listening to this while walking through an enchanted Norwegian forest at night
