hi how ya doing, just trying to find out if anyones ever heard of this.

basically ive a eircom phoneline with broadband from eircom, now when i pick up the phone to make a call its coming up on the screen of the phone that the line is in use, but i still get a dialing tone

now theres defo noone else on the fone as im sittin in front of the only one in the house, and this aint the first time its happened

has anyone ever heard of this? ive checked all my lines and theres defo noone else connecting to mine

If you pick up a cordless phone, the other phones on that base station will usually display "In Use" or something similar.

Check that you haven't left a handset off the hook. It's quite easy not to press "end" on some of those cordless phones after you've finished a call.
