Can't wait for this game, love 1 and 2. Got my special edition pre-ordered. Multiplayer is going to be interesting and I'm a bit sceptical about it

Can't wait for this, easily my most anticipated upcoming game.

AS2 is the only game I ever platinumed and it was well worth it.

Same as that. I'm contemplating doing the same with Heavy Rain though. Really want to see all the possible stories and endings.

I just turned it on, want to get the platinum. 3 more left. all feathers (need 2 or 3), glyphs (need 1) and then wear the cape all over the shop. Game is totally worth the platinum. I hated Ass 1 but Ass 2 was my fave game of last year and this year (so far!)

    Cmon, gimme that PLAT!!!

I loved AC1 &2 but after seeing that trailer i'm not sure i don't like the idea of hiring assassins and the graphics look terrible

How can you say the graphics look terrible, they, from what we can see here, are identical to Assassin's Creed II graphics, bearing in mind that this is the unfinished product, so it's probably not as polished looking as the end peoduct will be. As for the hiring of assassins....that's deffo a new twist, im not to keen on the idea myself, but depending on how they pull it off I could see myself warming up to the idea.

maybe the graphics just look bad on my laptop and in my opinion i dont think i could ever get used to hiring assassins

I recently finished ACII (getting the Platinum Trophy) so I don't really feel like playing another AC game so soon. I might end up waiting till next summer to get this.

    Hey

Assassins Creed 1 & 2 had Patrice Désilets as creative producer. He was instrumental in creating these two games. However as Assassins Creed 3 was being developed he took a "creative break from the industry". So basically Ubisoft Montreal had to develop the game without their lead guy from 1&2. Therefore I wouldn't keep my hopes up for this game.

Loved AC2 it's one of the best games on the PS3. I really loved the games themes, environments and the music was amazing. Can't wait to leap around Rome! Have my Codex edition pre ordered!!

Who is doing the Codex edition?

Why do people call it Ass Creed?, it makes it sound like a porno:D

  • Registered Users Posts: 29,845 ✭✭✭✭Zero-Cool

Ass creed is funner to say :D

Plus Ezio was a raging Bi-Sexualer. It says it in a hidden codex you get if you pass the mini sex game with Leo da vinci

    New vid showing multiplaer gameplay

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,467 ✭✭✭Niska

See the Multiplayer Beta is up on the PSN (Plus). Downloading it now - 3G download, though. The gameplay video looks good - hopefully it'll play as well.

  • Registered Users Posts: 29,845 ✭✭✭✭Zero-Cool

Damn PSN Plus snobs!!:D can't wait to play this!

Had a couple of games, it's damn good. Quite tough, but very different and unique. Very surprised by just how well the Assassin's Creed formula translates to multiplayer.

3GB download ? Holy Moley thats gonna be a Plus download in the middle of the night !

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,433 ✭✭✭Josey Wales

I would have downloaded it but downloads from the PSN are far too slow to even contemplate a 3GB file.

Played it a little and have enjoyed it so far.

Wanted[/B} seems to be the only play-style available in Beta at the moment. Basically, you have an assassination target while someone else has you as a target. There are eight (or so) "Avatars" to choose from, but none can be duplicated. You seem to be only able to kill your target, but you can stun your stalker and leg it if you see them approach.

The map itself (played two so far - Rome (a street in Rome) and a Villa map) is populated by many NPCs, all of which are duplicates of the available Avatars. So basically all the players blend in.

Gameplay wise its a different pace from the usual shooters. As I said, you have to kill your target while avoiding being killed. If you run or climb you stand out. There's a basic directional compass showing you the general direction of your victim. On the left and right of the screen there is a bunch of four diamonds. The red ones, on the left, indicate how many people are stalking you, while the ones on the right (blue) show how many people are stalking your target (incl. yourself). Just above these is a portrait of your target. But, as I said, the map is filled with NPCs which all look like the players. Also if you run while your target is in view they'll be alerted - a big red arrow indicates where you are for them. If you don't alert them, there's no way they can tell you are stalking them until you kill them.

And that's the basis of the game - you can't tell a player frm an NPC unless they act "indiscreetly". If you stay in a crowded area with at least a couple of look-alikes nearby, it will be hard to pick you out. Of course if you're doing that you're not hunting your target...

You have 10 minutes a "match", and score points based on how "discreet" your kill was. If you were running down your target you'll get less points than if you'd just walked up behind them and stabbed them. You also get points if you lose your stalker aster they've started chasing you (aforementioned red arrow) - using bales of hay and benches like the first two games.

You also have the now obligatory leveling up that all multiplayer games have. Not much different here than you've seen in Uncharted 2 or CoDs.

I've enjoyed it so far - it's a lot slower than most online games, but the cat-and-mouse, and sudden reversals of same, is intriguing and alot of fun. SO far.

Yeah, I'm gutted I won't be able to play this online (damn mobile broadband) but after finishing AC2 again last week, I don't think I've been looking forward to a game more this year

Can't wait for this. Definitely getting the Codex Edition. Even if it's just for the outstanding soundtrack. Any word on where the cheapest for this is?

I ordered this for my boyfriend for Christmas kind of an excuse to play it myself though ;) I really love Assassins Creed 2.

I was certain that I was buying it, but I had to force myself not to. It's 90 odd quid :o I pre-ordered in HMV and get the Harlequin character too (I don't want the Officer, anyway :p )

I'd much prefer the jack in a box that comes with the American Edition if I was buying a special edition!

Vodafone mobile broadband. Can get 2 bars of 3G reception, but mostly just 1 bar. Have to admit I haven't actually tried it cos I'd seen other people saying that mobile broadband causes too much lag and connection drops
