Why were yale locks, the sort you just pull out behind you, not on external doors nowadys? Not one mine anyway. Are they safer than springbolt that have to be locked?

I saw on internet how easy it is to open a springbolt with credit card. Would it cost much to replace with a deadbolt?

They would be more secure. It is also better was because you can not lock yourself out.

The newer ones where you have to lock the door yourself from the outside would be more secure than a normal Yale lock.
