Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Places vs Addresses

I've started using Gramps recently and it seems to be going quite well. It takes a while to work out how things hang together but I've got the hang of most of it at this stage I think.

I'm missing something pretty basic though - I've populated up a few 'places' which I know to be family homes throughout the generations. I assumed I could then link these places to individuals but I can't find out how to do it.

When editing an individual you can enter an address but it looks to be free form each time. You can link an address to a pre-defined source but not to a place.

In this case I would like to have a place defined as "Castle Zag", with historical records, photos, etc . . . recorded for the location and then for the 4 generations of my family that have lived there I would just link to the "Castle Zag" record.

I can't see how to do this - can someone shed some light on this please ?

    Thanks,

z (not actually of Castle Zag unfortunately)
