Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Most likely for drops in fps?

    Playing Crysis SP demo @ 1280 x 1024 with all settings high.
    Getting 30-40fps but then random drops in fps. Sometimes when during intense combat, but always for the first few seconds after the game launches.

    Specs: Athlon II x3 440 (usually an unlocked phenom II x4 B40 but was concerned about my PSU)
    1 GB crucial balistix
    xfx 8800 gt 512mb alpha dog
    XP 32-bit service pack 3
    ======================

    I know ram and gpu can be upgraded but I was getting smooth frame rates before and Borderlands plays at 30fps+ at highest settings with 16xAA

    Im thinking the random lags may be the page file being swapped around due to only 1GB of main memory. Also my PSU is way under par, but I heard this can only cause reboots or total failure :rolleyes:. (Will be getting a new psu on tuesday)

    Any help would be great.

    You can take 2 approaches with this if it was working ok before. Clean the crap off your machine removing resource hogs and/or increase RAM. If you increase the RAM you may still need to remove rubbish.

    There's a world of diffrence between Borderlands and Crysis, Borderlands is on the 4 year old Unreal 3 engine, not taxing at all. An 8800Gt is an old card which struggled with Crysis, You're even playing the demo, which is the pre-release unpatched version of the game. All settings on high is just a step too far, reduce some settings and disable antialiasing. 1GB ram is just barely enough for XP, nevermind Crysis, which needs nearly all that to tick over nicely

    Crysis demo ran like absolute crap on my old 8800GT OC'd

    Ignoring idiots who comment "far right" because they don't even know what it means
