Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

RTÉ Podcasts

    Hi Folks,

I'm just wondering what the story is with the blunt hatchet editing of RTE podcasts? It only on RTE's one that I'm experiencing editing where they end abruptly not only mid sentence or word but sometimes mid syllable (you'd hardly believe that's possible). It's very annoying as I takes from the otherwise well produced interesting and informative programmes or parts thereof available for download and appears to be just sloppiness but is so regular it's looks as if it a policy.
    :(

I don't know for sure but I expect that it's that they're taking the podcast direct from their output logging system and there's probably no editing done. They probably just go by the timings? Sloppy, I know but probably down to resources. You'll often notice that the podcast starts a few seconds/minutes prior to the end of the previous show or half way through the news suggesting this.

On a similar note if you listen to Newstalk repeats overnight, it frequently happens that shows cut off mid sentence and parts of shows go out in the wrong order. I doubt there's any malice or censorship intended just sloppy.

Amused by my perceived lack of patience guys, apologies accepted .

I've never noticed this actually, usually all intros are there, just a really abrupt ending. Thanks for the reply.

Can anyone else shed any light on this?
    Thanks.
