Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I had the misfortune to catch the first half hour of this show this morning. Whoever thought it was a good idea to put these two clowns up against Declan Meehan on Today FM deserves to be fired on the spot! They're unprofessionalism even reached to them slagging off a listener who texted in about how he/she disliked the show. Cringeworthy stuff. They told the listener that if they didn't like it they should go elsewhere.

There was nothing wrong with Dave Redmond. Baz and Lucy would have been more suited to a late night slot.

I dont understand the thinking behind getting these two on a weekend morning show. 2fm are supposed to aiming at 25-40 age group now afaik. Surely Dave Redmond would have been more suited to these group, Baz and Lucy are more in line with 15-25. They are the unbelieveable unprofessional, and sound like they should be on a pirate station not the national broadcastor.

I think Poporama, in it's heyday, credited it's listeners with having more intelligence than these two do and Poporama was aimed at kids!

Didn't hear Baz and Lucy but from what I know of them from other programmes, I can't imagine anything worse than listening to them first thing in morning........

Thread re-opened. Keep it on topic (re: Baz & Lucy, not whether 2FM get money from the license fee), please.

Was listening to 2Fm on Sat morning in bed and I have to say the Baz & Lucy thing was dreadful, painful to say the least, full of aaaaam's and long pauses and as for rapport, nothing, it was like like two strangers presenting a show about nothing in particular.
Maybe they could have gotten the two other lads from 'How Low Can You Go' to team up with Baz, it might not have been a great show but they were funny together and could be a good radio show! But then again something tells me Lucy is the golden child of RTE at the moment and he'll go before she does.

Well, I've just been listening to Dave Redmond on Today FM this afternoon and he sounds very slick. Whoever made the decision to drop him from the weekend breakfast show earlier in the year and put these two in instead... Well. You gotta wonder what they're thinking of really. It's all the infantile attempts at humour, no chemistry between them and anyway why do they need two presenters? This two hander style seems to be the 'new black' in Irish radio over the past few years.:confused:

IMO Colm and Jim Jim were the only decent double team and look what happened to them!

In fairness, Lenny, double-headers/two-handers have been the norm in Irish radio for quite some time now - particularly on morning/breakfast shows...

not that I'm disagreeing with you on Dave Redmond, mind you... and I'm glad I'm not the only one that finds the inclusion of Baz and/or Lucy on the schedule of a professional music driven radio station just a tad baffling...

Yeah, I know, but usually on the weekdays. The weekends were usually a bit more 'freestyle' or even sensible if you like! We had great weekend brekkie shows on 2FM over the years. Many of today's names started on weekends there as solos. In principle I have nothing against double headers if the chemistry is there but clearly it isn't with Baz and Lucy. Surely pilots were done to suss this out? Or would tey have just chucked them in together and hope for the best?
