That entire central block offers absolutely no creativity, which is a big problem. Arguably you could include Agger in that when he plays at left back. Hes much more creative when used in the middle.

We don't deserve to be any more than level so far, if we can't outplay West Brom then it's very worrying for the season, something needs to change fast.
Poulsen and Lucas just won't work as a partnership, we're really lacking creativity here

Hmm, not a good first half. Were desperately lacking in creativity. It might take Pacheco or possibly Babel for his pace to break West Broms defence down. With Jova and Kuyt on the wings, our attacks are far too predictable and slow. We need some pace on the wings to give them something different to think about. Babel on for Jovanovic would make a difference IMO. Alternatively, bringing Pacheco on for either Lucas or Poulsen and dropping Gerrard deeper could make a difference. Either way, something needs to be done coz I don't see us scoring the way things have gone so far.

I've been impressed by Mulumbu in the 1st half, controlled the midfield for the majority and can also spot a nice pass.

Agreed. Nothing in midfield going forward. Pacheco was impressive midweek. Would like to see Babel on for Jovanovic too.

Poulsen seems to be quite poor on the ball, he has given it away a few times. He's given away one or two silly fouls too so that is worrying.

Poulsen is average at best, he was okay at Sevilla, nothing more. Watching Lucas plus Poulsen is making my eyes bleed.

Given Poulson's performance in first half, I think it's fair to say we'll have a Portuguese speaking central midfield for most of the season.

To be honest he looks like he is of the same standard as what is around him today. Not one outfield player has looked anything other than clueless so far, and our tactics are that of a small team trying to snatch a point away to a big team.

It can only improve in the second half.
