dog nervous around people

    hi,my dog gets very nervous around strange people of all ages tail in between the leg and tries to run,the thing is wew had him since he was pup and is treated like a king one of my friends suggested that he was too moddy coddled and now is afraid of people what are peoples opinions on this

    what could help etc

    He sounds like he needs to be socialised. Check out and see if there are classes in your area. This will help build his general confidence in himself and you'll soon be asking how to stop him jumping up and licking your visitors!! Best of luck!

    Socialising sounds like a good idea..Hopefully it will work for you.

    We have a dog that has kind of similiar traits. She was defianlty spoilt rotten by himself (i was not there when she arrived) she wasent used to being around dogs she didnt know and now she barks really badly at other dogs. Cant trust her anywhere, but after a bit of socilising she has defiantly relaxed a little more not half as bad as what she used to be

    Agree with shazanne and milly. Needs to be socialized. Also if he was spoilt as a puppy he may be over-protective of his owners and not welcome other people around ye.
    should find a class handy enough it should do him the world of good!
