redundancy/signing on/mortgage relief/part-time work

hi all,
i'm about to be made redundant next week. live with my patner and 2 kid's. not married. she's not working. need to clear credit card's but redunancy wont cover it. work part-time through an agaency, one shift about every two week's, but someone said i might be entitled to help with my mortgage but would not get it if working part-time.i need to know the in's and out's of what to do,,,where to go,,,,and what to say,,, and any advice on negotiating with the credit card companies about reaching a settlement would be of great help..... thank's.

Hi allconfused You may be able to get help with your mortgage by applying for the Mortgage Interest Supplement (MIS). To do this you visit your local Community Welfare Officer (CWO), who will have office hours in a HSE Health Centre. There is a list of health centres here: http://www.keepingyourhome.ie/find_your_local_cwo.html.en. You should give them a ring first to confirm the hours. (The CWO may also be able to help if it takes some time to process your application for a Jobseeker's payment.) You can still get MIS if you are working up to 30 hours per week. The payment is means tested.
