Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

normally those drives will have a jumper (small clip) near where the cables plug in.

on each channel one needs to be set to 'master' and the other to 'slave', or if available both need to be set to 'cable select'.

the one with your operating system (windows) on should usually be set as the master or you'll have a bit more configuring to do before they'll work.

Thanks for the reply. Where is the jumper cable. I just checked the hard driv and I can't find any clip.

    Thanks.

I just did that after checking on YouTube and still it didn't work.

That's what a jumper should look like; it's not a cable, more like a small clip or cover that connects two pins on the back of the drive.

Somewhere near the pins / jumper should be a diagram so you can see which pins need to be connected up.

try just connecting the original hard drive, set it as 'master' or 'cable select'. if it doesn't boot up with that and the xp cd then it could be a problem with motherboard or another component. if it does boot up then the 2nd drive may be faulty or misconfigured.

It boots on the other computer but it doesn't boot on the main computer. Set Doesn't detect any disk present.
I've tried booting with windows xp but it didn't work.

Press Esc/F2/F12 on boot to get into the Bios and see if the drives are being recognized

I've tried installing windows xp and it gives me the blue light of death.
