Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Have to admit, "interwoogie" is neither an invention of mine nor Al Gore's.
Old Belfast cyber-talk, so it is.

Back on topic, still think Cavendish is great, but.

It's going to be an unreal stage today. I hope Roche doesn't get too excited, attack too early, get caught and have nothing left in the tank, because it's one hell of a long climb to the finish! Best case scenario he will finish 4th, worst case maybe 10th. Here's hoping for 4th!! :)

Does anyone know of an audio commentary stream that will work on a mobile phone (HTC HD2) for today's stage? I've tried the Eurosport live audio but it doesn't play on the phone.

Roche doing really well, almost a natural climber !! Fair play to Nibali, really pushing it.

I'm guesing the RTE headlines today will be:
Cavendish wins mountain top finish, another terrible day for Roche :p:D

    /rant
What's the story with Eurosport's coverage, late starting and then.........whooosh......gone !!!!

    what a fantastic stage.
    well one Nico, 6th overall?

Fantastic ride from Roche. Being able to stick with Rodriguez and Schleck until the very end shows that it was an amazing performance. He was unlucky that Tondo managed to claw back the gap to him after he was dropped. 7th place overall is still brilliant!

I only saw the final 6km but it was a really exciting finish. Brutal for the riders though!
Great ride by Roche! It looks like he's now able to hang with the big boys. Shame he didn't manage to leapfrog Tondo.

lads all credit to nibali ah well calculated ride to catch mosquerra just at the top, and the 20quid i had on him at 6/1 made it one most amazing stages iv watched, crazy climb.

Leave out the team time trial (prologue) and Roche would have moved ahead of Tondo by 9 seconds and would have been just 1 second off Schleck/5th.
When did the TDF stop doing team time trials ?

They haven't stopped using them in TDF, had one last year and will again next year.

The glamour of a pro-cyclists life...

From Nico Roches last diary entry from the Vuelta

"Sunday, September 19, Stage 21: San Sebastian de los Reyes to Madrid, 85km
Last night we had a special dinner with all the team staff to celebrate my team-mate Jose-Luis Arrieta's career. He had planned to retire after this Vuelta but had to abandon the race last week with tendonitis. Instead of my usual bowl of plain pasta with olive oil -- which I've had every single day for the past three weeks, I had a lovely steak dinner. Knowing that the stage didn't start until 3.0 the next afternoon, we all had a glass of wine and relaxed as Jose reminisced about his career "
