Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

JSA Clarification

    Hi eveyone,
If possible could someone help me clarify a query for a friend soon to be on JSA? He's been on JSB for a year, actively looking for work and has upskilled through 2 FAS courses, but has yet to find full time work.

He did have a part-time position for 5 months where he worked 2-3 days a week and was on the casual JSB but was let go from that position a few weeks back. He's calculated that he will be going onto JSA in about 7 weeks, and is panicking that the means test will leave him with less than the €196.

He's 30 years old and has moved home to his parents recently. He has savings under 10k. As they are both on pensions he contributes to the household for his upkeep. Is it likely that the means test would significantly reduce his weekly payment?

    Thanks for the help,
    Jess
