Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hi Everyone, I was just wondering if ye had any ideas has to how I could promote myself as a newly qualified Makeup artist. I am already a beauty and massage therapist but I LOVE make up artistry. I was thinking of maybe seeking the help of a similarly newly qualified photographer and perhaps an unexperienced model that all wished to promote themselves. Has anyone done this and found it helpful????

As you said, you can get in contact with photographers and models that are starting out. It's always handy to build a relationship with a photographer when you're both starting out, as you'll both benefit. Join sites like Model Mayhem too.

You can also study in a specialised area of makeup, such as beauty or fashion, and set your aims at an ITEC course. Most courses will provide their own photographer to get images for your portfolio, which will get you more work.

    Enjoy!

    What Fajitas said.

It might be appropriate to be a little cautious on model mayhem, at least don't go somewhere alone.

You could also have a look around www.filmmakersnetwork.ie - I think there might be a forum in there you could explore...

Fajitas & Hugh_C hit it on the head. Get yourself known to as many photographers/film makers etc as possible as that way when they start to look for someone to do the make-up that you are an option.

It is critical you get a portfolio together and have a varied one too ie not all headshots, but can include different locations, styles to match clothing etc

I have requested the OP to post an entry in the Services Thread.

We are not going down the road of offering services in thread again. The Services Thread was established to overcome the problems which occurred before.

Any offers of services should only be made by PM.

Please take note of the Charter
Post requests or offer Photographic Services in the main forum. These items should be posted in the Photographic Services Offered/Wanted Sticky thread provided. Please note the rules in the Original Post of that thread.
