Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I know most will not have heard of him, however, he was the last survivor that played in the first World Cup final ever in 1930.

He was Argentinian and died at the age of 100 years old. There is no doubt that some history has died with him - RIP.

Just to add a bit more to this (having read up), the man was a great player. Played the main part of his career with Boca Juniors, and scored 194 goals in 222 appearances between 1931 and 1940. It stood as a club record for the next 69 years, until Martin Palermo topped it in 2009. What a life.
