Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Still haven't received anything, I've a feeling i'm not going to get it, it's not a big deal I guess! Do people get letters explaining that their applications were rejected!?

I don't know anywhere that allows two offers to be accepted in the one purchase, maybe DFS Sofas...

I found it quite clear that the items bought couldn't be part of another promotion, it was hardly small print.

Thanks to P&G I got my cheque a month ago

Lay off the cap's, stop whinging and grow a pair.
Terms and conditions clearly set out, the majority of people managing to followthem without any hassle or confusion. The fact you purchased products AFTER your appointment voids the terms and conditions.

No wonder Colgate have to take so longer to filter through each and every claim when people like you clearly set out to abuse what is a very good offer.

Shut the hell up you blabbering idiot, I feckin did purchased the damned products before I went to the dentist, How in the blue would you know whether I purchased them before or after?. Get STUFFED!

Has anyone rang them and asked whats going on with the delay?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 898 ✭✭✭OREGATO

Got my cheque in the post today! Yay! Thank you colgate!

Wasn't really expecting it as I thought possibly they would have found an issue with me purchasing the items directly off my dentist the day before but was fine!

Cheque in the post yesterday, Hurray! Sent it off late Sep / early Oct so still hope for anyone who sent it off after that.

Whenever I see an offer like this I am always very suspicious and therefore read the terms and conditions completely as otherwise they will sting you if you don't comply.

Is this still on offer as it states the following on the offer site but from reading this thread others are still getting it paid (although I wonder is the receipts within the month of Oct):

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE PRODUCT PURCHASE PERIOD FOR THE PROMOTION HAS NOW ENDED (30TH SEPTEMBER 2010).

You can still apply for it, provided you've already got your receipts for everything.

Yes, Colgate and dentists in on it. You go to Dentist for "free" check up and a clean, dentist spots a heap of things "wrong" with your teeth and you end up paying through the nose for it in the long run.

Apart from the odd filling You are better off going up north for dental work.

You have a very skeptical attitude! When I got my teeth cleaned there was nothing wrong found with my teeth... I just paid €60 and got my receipt... Not everything is a conspiracy! Was there loads of stuff found wrong with your teeth or something?

Admittedly I was hoping to get my cheque in the post sooner than this, but i'm sill optimistic it will come!

(Paying through the nose for your teeth... there must be a pun in there somewhere put i couldn't get it )

I sent mine in nearly 4months ago, still nothing!

  • Registered Users Posts: 87 ✭✭cartom

I got a letter back. My receipt from the Dentist is not have any details just the amount. I had to get a new receipt stating it was for a scale and polish and post it back to them.

I should have read the details before I sent it away. My own fault. :o

I felt, i didn't know where to contact, so somebody still might feel similar.

My Tesco reciepts were low informative, but it was ok for promo.

    Suggestion: Try to wait.

Went to my dentist and was given an appointment with the hygenist. She cleaned my teeth but wanted to organise another visit for a deeper clean. They wanted to charge extra for a checkup which I will organise in January with my PRSI.

Last year the dentist cleaned the teeth in one visit and examined the teeth at the same visit. Now they are trying to convert this into 2 visits to the hygenist at 70 a visit and a visit to the dentist for a checkup.

I think many dentists may have used this as an opertunity to get extra business.

A friend of mine went to the same dentist and he had to go back for the deep clean.

Hi I got my cheque 2 days before Christmas, I had sent the stuff in september. so i think that they are taking their time to get through the backlog.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 25,243 ✭✭✭✭Jesus Wept

Went to Smiles on O'Connell Street.
Complete waste of time, thank god it'll be free - if I get the cheque anytime soon.

In and out of the chair in 5 minutes. Guy rubbed some paste around my gum with his fingers like I was a horse.
Any other time I've had a teeth cleaning (first time in this dentist) they've taken more time and care and applied the paste to each tooth individually with some sort of brush of sorts.

Appointment was for 4:30 and I was waiting 15 minutes, so I reckon they all wanted to get out the door.

Sent my form back in late October early November. Not a hint of a cheque yet. Think its best to just assume we're getting nothing and then be surprised if the cheque finally arrives. Seems bad though that they dont even acknowledge receiving the application.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 25,243 ✭✭✭✭Jesus Wept

I'm assuming I'll get it or else I'll go batshít.
I did everything to the letter. I am being patient for the moment.

Called the 'helpline' and it says that due to the sucess of the promotion, there are deklays in posting cheques.

Whilst it was an irish phone number the accent was english - just hope they are referring to the irish promotion, held 10 mins for an operator to clarify but no luck :(

My wife got her cheque over Christmas but I'm still waiting even though both were submitted at the exact same time:confused:

Update from Colgate : They have finished processing all October applications. They are starting November next Monday/this week.

So hopefully no need for panic. I still haven't received mine mind you :)

I sent mine in September, no sign yet.............:( - again, done completely by the book

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,239 ✭✭✭physioman

I posted mine in 25th september and got it the week before christmas. I was initially concerned and rang the helpline but they said it was being processed in Luxemburg and couldn't comment on my individual application. I did everything as they said and it arrived. Haven't cashed it yet and glad of it now after christmas. Keep the faith it will arrive:D

Got mine yesterday. I sent the application off at the beginning of October.

A bit of a slow process but can't complain. €65 extra that I had basically forgotten about.

    So this is still running?

I purchase the 3 products, go to my dentist, get a scale and polish, send in the receipt and bobs my father's brother?

  • Registered Users Posts: 196 ✭✭eimear1

No, purchases had to be made in Sept, sorry!
This thread is still running to see how people are getting on getting the money back, as some seemed to be having trouble

Sent off two (separate) applications in October, one each for myself and the missus. I did notice that there was a <conspiracytheory>deliberate</conspiracytheory> misprint on the address - Fairview is most certainly not in Dublin 13, so I sent it to D3. Will post again when get our cheques.

After purchasing the required items and forwarding the receipts with the account paid letter from my Dentist and the form in October. I received a letter this morning from Colgate saying an item was on promotion when purchased so my claim was rejected.
Colin Morrison at Colgate says page two of the form states this fact. However as I never received this information from either my Dentist or Tescos from whom I purchased the products I feel I am being ripped off by the Company having waited three months for nothing!!

It was in the terms and conditions as I dealt with customers looking for non-promo items. At the time nearly every toothpaste was on promo except the colgate minty fresh basic stuff. It was also on the back of the A5 leaflet available from dentists and from Dunnes.

    :(

    Got my application rejected.
Reason was that when I bought my colgate products from Tesco in nutgrove the receipt does not state that they are colgate products.
Really unhappy as this is not my fault. How am I supposed to know until AFTER I have bought the products that my receipt would not be sufficent.

So, my boycott of Colgate products is starting with immediate effect.

Phone up the helpline (buried somewhere in this thread) and tell them this is the way Tesco put products on their receipt and that it is not your fault. They should be familiar with this situation.
