Merit Placing

Merit place between 360-380 with an AC score of 56. Don't think that will be good enough, being a non RC. Does anyone know roughly what the lowest placed non RCs have been to get a place in previous campaigns? Fingers, toes and everything else crossed.

Just got my Merit number. between 160-180, very pleased as I didn't expect such a good result. Now the waiting game for recruitment to open! Well done to all who have got this far!

Could someone send me the number to phone, also do you need to give them your candidate number or can you just use your name, as i am in work and they will have closed before i leave. Thanks

They ask for your UID number, but you could phone and try without it. No harm in trying.

memulmno you don't need your UID apparently you can just give name and address.

They ask for your UID number, but you could phone and try without it. No harm in trying.

Merit place low 365-375 for RC with AC score of mid/high 50s. Quite pleased with that, now they just need to recruit!

How many people will they actually hire, fr example is it the top 400 people say on the merit list or what.

In previous campaigns it has been 440 places , but with budgets etc this time around is anyone's guess.

I guess it all depends on how many they take on, community background etc. I think I'm right in saying that an RC with a much lower merit place can get in before a non-RC?

Hey all got my placing this morning, 105-115.. so pretty well pleased with that! an thank you all for replying with the number so quick last nite its very much appreciated!

Just a little hope for some people, my brother had a merit placing of high 400s last year and got in about half way through the campaign i think it'll come down to how quick your vetting passes through!

Just want to wish every1 luck not only in this freezer of ours but also with the intakes when an if they take place! hehe

Hey just phoned and got my merit number and from what i can see on other posts people are getting a merit range is that what they are being told when they phone or is that a rule on the forum that you cant give your specific merit number?

ah cheers buddy so you must gte an exact then just put it in a range, well i was amazed at mine for the score, 1-10 but no news of medical and verification is still away so hard to tell could be verification that cooks me.

Anybody out there who hasnt got what they wanted this time round - you could be the best person for the job, you never know! Likewise, people who scored good and are lucky enough to get into GV - dont get cocky or complacent, you only managed to pass a test in a hotel room this dosent mean you will be a good cop.

Keep those chins up and if its for you, it wont go by you!

That's ok then - was shocked as I though you hadn't recieved them.

I don't think they do get back to you to say it has cleared - only if it hasn't cleared.

For anyone interested my merit score is between 850-870 rc. Think this is possibly the lowest posted score. I asked how many were on the list but the lady was unable to tell me, does anyone have a rough idea or willing to make an educated guess?

I managed to get through on my 4th attempt this morning.

A/C score 54.....Merit place 495-505.

Not the best range to be in but for a 1st timer I suppose its ok.

Just hope for a big intake if/when we get out of freezer.

I think a brave number of people got 54 so i believe the IST score comes into play.

My IST score was 63.

Hopefully this helps.

Thats the best attitude to have VES86.

Umm...wow! That's all I can say, you must be completely over the moon, congrats! Interesting though that you got 66 in the AC and are in the first 10, really musn't have been too many people scoring nearly full marks...

I'm sure GV will whip you into shape pretty quick no bother
I honestly believe that it is something nearly anybody who really honestly wants it could do, with the right training and the will to do it and do it good I think most people could be moulded into a police officer. Obviously yes, some people just no...but it takes all sorts. Anybody can change those not so great traits with the right guidance and mentoring, or maybe anger managment classes for you missus :P
It just sucks that it's so bloody hard to get that opportunity!

Damn, that was my title for a while there, but you can have it :P Only joking with ya ofcourse, I feel your pain...although if you look at it in the grand ol' scheme of things we're 800th and something out of nearly 10,000 that started, that makes me feel just a little bit better about myself...just a tiny little bit mind you

it really is a shock that me getting 1 less mark puts me like 100 odd places behind lol

but then if your optimistic about it i would say next year get one more mark and im 100 places better off lol

Hi guys, well i'd to try and get through a few times but i got a hold of the nice woman at ext. appts. told me i was merit placed 240 - 260 which i was pleased with.

57 ac score, cant recall IST score and in the RC category. so vetting and medical still to pass then i'll be feeling alright.:)
