Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

hi there i wonder would someone in the know answer a quick question
for me. I was called for my usual yearly medical assessment as Im on illness benefit for 5 years due to bad back. I was taken off this Benefit because after about 4 minutes in his company the examining doctor claimed that while i couldnt do my usual job that I would be fit for other categories of work. I am obviously appealing this decision but my question is usually how long does it take to be called for the appeal in the first instance.

I appealed a decision of the medical officer last year. Made the appeal in May, 2009, and was heard in October, 2009, with final decision made in November, 2009.

I would bring in your own doctor's letters (ideally type), stating that you are unable to work, and explaining the problems in layman's terms. The appeals officer will not be a doctor.

I would also set out the time taken in the examination by the doctor, what he asked you, what examinations he conducted, and also the outcome of previous examinations by other DSP doctors.

hi Clauric I thought it would be much sooner for a first Appeal. Also in my letter of Appeal I sent in a letter from my own doctor and one from the Consultant I had been attending. I would be very apprehensive of saying anything against the Doctor who examined me but he made me feel so intimidated and I immediately felt dismisssed from the moment I walked in the door. He even asked me did I like to go shopping. My own Doctor said to me I should have dressed down for the examination. Let me state I am not a dresser-upper by any stretch of the imagination!
