Storing internal oak doors??

    Hi

    Would it be ok to store oak doors in a house that has no heat yet.

    If so would it be better to lie them on the ground on top of each other and how long would they be ok like that?

    Mine were stored in my new house with no heat for almost a month. They did come pre wrapped in a cling film and surrounded by cardboard. We stacked them on top of each other on palets. There was no problem with them at all.

    Yeah, keep them on their flat, lying down. it'll prevent them from warping

    Rather than starting a new thread,

    Does the same apply to wooden floors. Is it OK to store them in an unheated house for a month or 2?

    Yep, they've probably been stored in an unheated warehouse for the past 4mths anyways.
    Like doors, the main this is to keep them flat and sealed in their original packaging and they'll be safe enough, however be careful when you come to use them.
    Make sure you very gradually raise the temp and reduce humidity to normal levels well in advance and then leave the wood to aclimatise for a few days before opening.
