Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

They are quite tight, But I suppose they are compression tops. My Large feels like an XS . Felf very warm in it, might come in handy in the winter.

Defo. It's tight, but creases a bit because it's large. Mediums were snapped up very fast. I finished around the 180th mark, idled for a moment, and they were all gone.

Its really amazing the difference in running a fast short race and a long slow one- maybe i amn't suited to running short after all.

Not at all. Please get that idea out of your head. Do speedwork in training, thats all it takes. Saying that you're not suited to running fast is limiting yourself before you even get going. The mind is powerful and if you tell yourself you're just not fast or whatever then you create a psychological block. Give it a go in training, see what happens. Also the morning of a short fast race like a 5k, its well worth doing 6 x 200m sprints(or race pace) about 10mins before the start of the race. The reason for this is so that youre body is primed and ready to run at race pace and its not such a shock to your system when the strating gun goes off.

Cheers for that- interesting to note that the starting gun caught us all by surprise where I was- we couldn't hear anything that the guy on the loudspeaker was saying.
Yesterday was the first time that I really felt that I couldn't go any quicker or further in a 5km. I pushed really hard- first mile was something like 6.54 (I knew I was in trouble right there) second mile was really hard and third mile I settled in but had nothing left to kick coming in at 22.54.
To be fair though I ran this in 27.49 last year so knocking 5 min off isn't bad. My previous PB was 25.04 from my last 5km in June and I've been training for the race series since then. I've done zero 5km work. My resolution is to join a club with a long-term goal of knocking 3 min off and coming in under 20min.....
Its an interesting lesson for the novice runner though that just because you can run a half marathon at just under 9min pace doesn't mean you can run 3miles in 7.30 pace

I'm in the same boat as you, coming in at 22.40 (on my watch), and feeling that I could have continued at the same pace for a couple of miles, but not run any faster. But that's just the training we've been doing, learning to run far at a consistent speed - I don't know if I've run 2 miles total at a faster pace than yesterday in the last 3 months. But in the winter the interval training will start...

Ran my first ever 5k today after only starting to run 3 months ago. Ran a 37:45 which is faster than I thought I could do given that I'm a 46yo "never really exercised before" slightly overweight female:D

Well done you! I think I finished about 37mins also, maybe that was you I finished with. 1st 5K also after c25k. I am weebit dissapointed tho that I didnt get 35, I have done in all my runs until las couple of weeks. But we did it and it can only get better from now. Proudly put up my pic in my new top on fb for all to see!

Might look at that jingle bells race now too in Dec
