    I am having issues with data on 3. I can't seem to get any data on 2g, I have a r icon in the signal (which indicates roaming) but I can't get any internet unless I manually search for the network. :(

    I spoke to three but they keep blaming my handset.

    Does anyone else have this or how can I get this fixed?

    Hi angel01,

    You have the Galaxy S right?

    These are my settings and it appears to be working this morning (although I'm on Android 2.2):

    Use Packet data (yes)
    Data Roaming (yes)
    Access Point Names -> I presume this working on 3G
    Network mode (GSM/UMTS auto mode)
    Network operator -> Select Auto

    I changed the Network mode to GSM only and it's allowing me to data roam at the moment.
    Also, I had to close the browser and re-open it for some reason.

    Oh yep sure...

    Applications -> Settings -> Wireless and network -> Mobile networks

    Use Packet data -> Green tick
    Data Roaming -> Green tick
    Access Point Names -> I presume this working on 3G already?
    Network mode -> Select (GSM/UMTS auto mode) or (GSM only - to test roaming is working)
    Network operator -> Select Auto

    I don't have most of those options :(

    I only have Data Roaming
    Access Point Names
    Network Operators

    Are you able to get online via 3G?

    Most of the time, yes but some of the time I have the R - as if I am roaming and have to manually select the network to bring 3g back.

    Try this:
    Applications -> Settings -> Wireless and network -> Mobile networks -> Network operators

    When I go in there, its reads "Searching".
    After it's finished searching select the second "3" in the list (this appears to be the GSM network).
    When I select this I get the 'R' permanently.

    Try going on the internet now. Make sure Wifi is not on.

    You can always select auto to return to normal 3G/GSM.

    If I get that R button, I can't use data so am stuck just on the first 3g one and hoping that R doesn't pop up :(

    Hi Angel01

    go to Applications > Settings > Wireless Networks > Mobile Networks

    Make sure Data Roaming has a green tick

    Select Access Point Names
    Select the one for internet (if there is only one thing, select it, if there is more than one, one of them should have mms in the name, select the other one.)
    To select it, dont press the greeen circle, click on the name. It will open the list of settings

    Make sure APN is set to 3ireland.ie
    if it is set to 3internet it will not work.
    Press the menu key and select save
    Press the back key

    Go in to network operators,
    search for networks and select the second 3. This will force the R to appear and test the settings. It might take a few seconds to connect to data. If after 1 minute it hasnt then it's not working.

    Either way, if its working or not, go back in to network operators and choose select automatically.
