    Reduced from €39.99

I couldn't tell you what the quality is like but seeing as a set of rabbit ears can cost as much i figured it was worth posting.

i live in a mountainous part of wicklow where i cant get domestic tv without a roof aerial, and even then reception was poor. strictly speaking, this is suitable for internal attic installation only, but i now have 2 installed and am enjoying interruption free-crystal clear digital terrestrial television and radio.(i made sure to reserve 2 more before posting comments!)

Any UHF aerial is suitable for irish DTT, assuming you are in range of a transmitter.

It mentions it picks up Freeview channels.

Does that mean it picks up actual Freeview channels (like the ones listed here: http://freeviewireland.com/channels.html) or does it mean the Free To Air ones?

No, it does not pick up Freeview, the brand name for British DTT system.

Nor does it pick up the channels on that list (excluding any RTE channels), which are free-to-air (FTA) satellite channels, and arguably shouldn't be called Freeview due to the confusion it can cause.
The Irish DTT network is to be called Saorview (yes, rather lazy, since saor means free).

Freeview is a UK service, while it'a avialible in some parts of the Republic of Ireland along the eastcoast and by the border I'd imagine a better Aerial designed for low singnal area's would be required.

You won't get freeview in Kildare(your location) but you should get Saorview which is soft-launching it's service this October and is currently in testing. The full service should be up and running 2 years later. Saorview will include RTE1, RTE2(which will part time HD),TG4 ,TV3 ,3E and a few more. TV3 & 3E may not be available until 2012. There is lots on the subject in the Terrestrial TV forum - http://boards.ie/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?f=56

If you get a Satellite dish and and a branded Freesat HD box you'll get all of these free to air channels - http://www.freesat.co.uk/index.php?page=whatson.Main . I recommend a freesat box over a free to air satellite box because you'll get a 7 day epg(program guide) and automatic updates so you don't need to retune every time a channels moves.

PS. there is a thread about this Aerial's quality in the Terrestrial TV forum http://boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2056018408 .
