Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back a page or two to re-sync the thread and this will then show latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi all

Recently bought a 1990 Elddis Autoquest 270. Everything working great apart from the pump.

We are completely new to campervans etc and need help re the set up of the pump etc.

Under the taps are two wires which are not connecting to anything at all. Can anyone tell me, where should these go? They are only approx 4 inchs long :(

Some taps have a reed switch in them so that when you turn the tap the pump is activated, others rely on a pressure switch to sense the change in pressure when the tap is opened.

With regard to the loose wires a) your system may have been converted from the former system to the latter removing the need for wires or the wires have simple broken free from the tap.

In order for the pressure switched variety to work there needs to be some water in the system yours may simply have run dry and needs to be primed.
Another possibility is that there is usually a one way valve in the system to prevent the ater draining away from the taps etc. in the short term another possibility is that this is stuck. There is probably a way to manually activate your pump to prime the system.

If none of the taps wires connect to anything , it must be a system with a pressure switch . These are sometimes adjustable , or the pump itself could be stuck . Are the fuses ok?
