This is the cork forum. There are normally drinks after talking about meet ups on the forum, no mind after the actual meet ups!

    Everyone was a newbie once!

I was at my first boards meetup on Saturday just gone. Obviously a lot of people know each other and have ongoing banter. However don't forget they all were newbies once - and most of them have only been doing this for 6 months at most.

You cannot go once and expect to be like old friends with everyone, otherwise you WILL be disappointed. These things take time but you have to start somewhere otherwise you don't reach the goal. Drinks meetups are good as you can just relax with your pint and take it all in if your not "connecting" with someone at any particular moment.

That is my humble opinion on the whole matter.

    Malcolm

P.S. They are a good bunch and I felt welcomed and I would not be the worlds best socialiser!!

A bit of an off-topic post...

I'm moving this weekend and would need to hire a "Man & Van" service. Any of you know someone who provides this kind of service??

    Thanks!

I think you posted this in the wrong place! This thread is for going to the pub - not moving house and seeing as it's now October I doubt many people even visit it any more.

You need to start a new thread or jump on the back of a relevant one.

To that person who is looking for help in finding someone to help them move sorry I dont know anyone but I am sure someone else on this thread might know more. Best of Luck!

Elibella, sorry I just realised it would have been last weekend when you moved so my last text was a bit late. Hope you got the move over ok and you found some help as moving places is a hateful job.
