6 managers have come and gone under Levy in 13 years. That's a fact.

I'm still baffled as to why you include Pleat and not Clive Allen?

Pleat got 8 months, Allen got a week

    But that's not the point

Each mgr lasts around 18 months, it's disgraceful

He doesn't know what he's doing

At the time of leaving Santini said "There was a problem of where responsibility lay in the club, especially when it came to transfer policy, where we could never reach agreement."

Fast forward 9 years. There's your answer.

Yep, an interfering chairman who won't let the mgr get on with the job, it's like he wants to be the mgr, we're toxic for any manager coming in. Brendan Rodgers pretty much said the same thing a few weeks ago about when he was offered the job before AVB.

I am told Capoue is in talks with Napoli and apparantly Lamela is next
    for the door.

I think in light of these developments Baldini should be sacked.

He made the call on these players.

How embarrassing is it to sell your record signing within 4 months of buying him??

    Ridiculous

Admittedly not in the most glorious way

Yes you are right we did, my mistake. I still think the standard of signing was pretty poor for a team trying to secure Champions League football.

Ryan Nelson and Louis Saha, quality signings;)

Maybe with some proper investment we could have maintained our 10pt gap over Arsenal? Maybe not.

Even more so with a manager who remained focussed on his job instead of laughing & joking with journalists about another job for 2.5 months while the season fell apart. Then again, maybe not.

    Have another go at that.

    What developments? Nothing has developed.

It's the January transfer window. Silly season.

    Let's wait and see.

Jesus we'r all giving out about sackings (whinged meself over AVB), so lets solve it all with a sacking. I must admit there is some good comedy on this site.

I'v had more tension, excitment, near heart attacks and happiness in the last four years as a Spurs fan than I had in the previous twenty five.

As I say to my grown up kids, "Ya don't know how good ya have it" and same goes for many Spurs fans imo. In response though they have threatened to send me off to old folks home!

Spurs are on a different planet now compared to the club we were since the early eighties.

You are either on a wind up are are actually mentally defective.

    Interesting

Was Pleat fired? I thought he was only ever caretaker under ENIC

Was Santini fired? Thought he walked out

Was AVB fired? The press statement said mutual decision. AVB has yet to contradict this. I guess we don't really know yet.

    Was Sherwood fired???

    Were Arnesen and Baldini fired?

You sure you're not rewriting history there?

Don't disagree with your sentiment but AVB was as good as given the door.

You're probably right. We don't know the whole story yet though.

  • Registered Users Posts: 365 ✭✭Jason 5pu45

I didn't make my point well. What I was getting at is we should not be using a technical director to buy players that our manager(both AVB and sherwood)don't
    want.
By the way, your right the early 80 s we were on a different planet,we had 3 of the greatest players in the world(ardiles, villa and hoddle) playing for us,we also won 2 FA Cups(back to back) and a UEFA Cup (when it had teams who finished 2nd and 3rd in their league).

    I wouldn't mind a return to that.

    I like this post from one commenter;
Where are we now in comparison?

    1. The most expensively assembled squad in our history
    2. Unquestionably the best squad I’ve ever seen at Spurs – eclipsing 81 & 87 in depth & sheer talent. How man Internationals do we own today?
    3. 2004-07 the team gained an average of 1.50 points per league game
    2008-12 this rose to 1.74
2012-13 this again rose to 1.83
Even now, 2014 it stands at 2.29 (I’ll eat my own head if it stays at that though)
That is incredible. And I’d wager unequalled by any other (non doped) club in the country. It’s illustrates sustained, continuous improvement & upward progression.
    4. The last 5 years have seen us finish 3 x 5th & 2 x 4th places. So 5 consecutive years of 5th or higher. This is the 1st time we have ever done that, in our history. That kind of stability is not to be sniffed at or ignored.
    5. Regular challengers to the Top 4 or for the Top 4 depending on which journo you read

The counter argument is very good.

It's really nice to finally see some insightful articles with good counter argument replies instead of this typical "LOLZ we bad #LevyOut" ****e seen everyday on twitter and Facebook.

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,712 ✭✭✭2nd Row Donkey

Forget #LevyOut, its #ENICout. If Levy ever did go, the next man in to take his place would be under the same orders.

It’s a grand old investment company to play for...

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 240 ✭✭NWPat

Football is a business that is dominated by the teams that pay the highest wages. Since the start of the Premiere league no team that was not in the top 3 wage payers has ever won the league. According to the latest figures the top 7 should look like this:

    1 Man City
    2 Chelsea
    3 Man Utd
    4 Arse----
    5 Liverpool
    6 Tottenham Hotspur
    7 Newcastle United

Money talks, until ENIC are able to raise more funds through a bigger stadium or outside investment or the club is sold to someone with massive pockets, Spurs will almost certainly not win the league. To finnish as they have done in 4th and 5th places over the last 5 years is an over acheivement. To expect more is just wishful thinking.

It’s a grand old investment company to play for...

There's Pro's and Con's. Both arguments that I've read are very compelling and for me make it very difficult to decide on what I think is correct.

Considering what DubPerryman quoted and putting that into perspective you have to look at how great of a side product this investment project Spurs are.

It's quite easy to just read that first article and say Yes Yes he's right praise the lord!! But in reality there's an awful lot more to it than just #Levyout or #ENICOut for that matter...

okay then were are we going with ENIC ?

    What's the plan ?

13 yrs on, 9 mgrs, 1 trophy, 1 CL qualification, best players are always sold, fans getting screwed, some of the highest ticket prices, no insight or information from the top, no stadium, just year after year of the same old ****.

but at least we're not as bad as we were under Alan Sugar !!
