Sorry if this is a dumb question but I couldn't find an answer on the website. How many people on a team and is it male/female categories or mixed?

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 157 ✭✭pmccormack

Teams are made up of 3 people they can be mixed male and female and the dominant sex will determine which class your in for example if its 2 girls & 1 Guy they are in the Ladies Class or if its 2 guys and 1 girl they are in the Mens class!!!

Hope this helps any other questions fire away we will try update the web-site in order to make it abit clearer.

    Cheers

How experienced do you have to be to take part?
Nothing for sit on tops Im presuming!
    We need our own games!

You need to be comfortable paddling Grade 3 white water and be able to roll a kayak.
Unfortunately we do not have a sit-on-top class this is purely down to the nature of the river and the format of the racing.

Check out some videos from the previous years events Here

It is a great day out even if you are not taking part we have an area where most of the countries leading Paddle sports shops set up stalls and also you get to see some of the countries top paddlers do what they do best. not to mention a healthy bit of carnage.

I filled out the online application, when should I expect to hear back or should I have heard from someone by now. I've heard it's a great weekend, can't wait to do it

If you have applied then dont worry you will hear back in due course it maybe the end of the week by the time you hear back but dont worry once the entry is sent your in.

You have heard right it is a great day out at the river and a mad party back in Waterford that night.

Details about the party and where to stay should be up soon I just have to finalise some bits and pieces.

    Hi Guys and Gals,

Just to let you know that the Gorge games site is down due to some tech issues and we hope to have it sorted in the next day or so.

We have emailed all competitors who have entered so far, we are coming close to capacity so once the site is back up if you would like to enter get them in as soon as.

The Gorge Games are approaching fast with only a week to go till we will be all river side watching the action unfold.

The event has reached total capacity but there is still more room for spectators on the bank. No matter what type of paddling you are into im sure you will enjoy the day with lots of action on the river and most of the main shops in the country displaying the latest equipment and special offers.

Check out the site for directions to the event www.colligangorgegames.com

Have a look at this video for some highlights of last years action.

Racing will be kicking off between 9-9:30am and running all day.

Look forward to seeing you there.

    Cheers
