I'm so pissed off at this sorry excuse for a telecommunication company, it's unbelievable. They called me two weeks ago to ask whether or not my internet was slow...I said "no", and then they said "oh really?" in a shocked way. Fast forward to last week, my internet got slower as expected  so I get another call saying they have a promotion where by they'll give me 8mb for one week and if I like it, I can continue with it for an extra {enter extortion figure here}.

Anyway, I didn't receive a minute of that 8mb because the whole bloody internet was on the blink for the entire week - I could of generated more power with my gerbil in a fvcking wheel, running.

It's got to the point that i can't even watch Youtube vids anymore without complications..fvck this company...it's like my power is being brought up through this ****ty Eircom system by a retarded snail with a bad lung.

Then Customer Service is crap too. The only answer you get is "would you like to upgrade?"....NO, I don't want to upgrade, I want to get what I'm bloody paying for first! You idiots! We're 86th in the world for broadband...wtf?!? A first world country???? We really are backwards...and there's no law saying we MUST receive what we're paying for either...bollox.

I think Eircom are doing a pretty good job of destroying Eircom without our help.

Yep, my brother downgraded from Time Warner's 15Mbps with Powerboost ... within a day of being on 10Mbps his connection would persistently drop every few minutes.

These companies are thieves that need to be thoroughly investigated. They have every ability to throttle a user's internet and fcuk them around until they're on the most expensive package on offer. It's criminal intent.

The only metric most corporations uderstand is money. Stop paying eircom, and I am sure they will begin to listen.

Very difficult to do when you are essentially the monopoly provider of "decent" internet access in the market.

True enough. Ironically though, Eircom is the only provider that can't deliver broadband to my home/area despite living < 3km to the exchange. Suffice to say, I will always
support small isp's who can deliver a far better "service" than eircom ever could. This country is a joke tbh. Also @OP - Online petitions DO NOT WORK!. Waste of effort.

    /*Edit - Ah, sarcasm:pac:

The biggest shower of cúnts in business in Ireland. Around 2004, I spoke to someone there about the possibility of my local exchange getting DSL and was told that it was on the list and would be active in a matter of months. 6 years later, it still isnt. Luckily for me, in the last 2 years ONE wireless broadband provider has started up and Im currently paying them an extortionate montly fee for an unstable, unreliable connection. But after nearly 10 years of dialup, I'll put up with alot.

Be careful if switching your calls provider from eircom to another, they don't have your calls package activated for the last few weeks (between last bill date + date of switching over) so you might think your calls are free if your package for example was free local/national calls anytime but then you get stung with a bill for €100 worth of calls you thought were on your package. Shower of c**ts.

    I got that 8mb offer too OP,tried it out,didn't see a difference,went to check my speeds,was getting 1.5mb,2 max.Total bull!

Not much more internet providers here though so I'll have to stick.
Last time we changed phone companies anyway we were paying twice as much.

Yes, I understand there's no law in place currently which states you must receive what you're paying for - internet speed wise, in this country. I don't know how the government can sit back and watch these corporations rob the public.

Corrupt isn't the half of it.

My eircom broadband is always fast, unless I'm illegally downloading something. Then it takes several seconds to load a webpage.

So sucks to be you OP

Sounds like the OP needs a good **** to relieve the tension. Skinny mags are the way to go
