Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Big weekend of games. Hopefully attendances don't suffer too much with the Armenia game on a few hours prior.

Anything less han 3 points and we're out of it imo...

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

Not to mention primary schools being back so yourselves and Fingals attendences might be down.

Bit stupid not just to move the matches to Saturday with the Oireland match on, anyone what to put money on that there will be more Oirish fans in Armenia that all combined LoI attendences this weekend?

For for the Reds, here's hoping for a 2-0 or 3-0 victory in my absence.

Not down substantially though, Rovers is much more family orientated than Fingal. We don't just throw black bags full of free tickets through school windows :pac:

I expect Sligo to be formidable but without Amond now they're going to struggle. Thankfully Twigg's ban has been overturned so I reckon we'll get 3 points.

Awh don't exaggerate it's only two free child tickets for every paying adult. But I'd say that might hit them bad.

I'd say Sligo might hold out and be handy with a draw, Shams are odds on to win and Sligo are 3/1 to win!

I can't see them doing us without their talisman tbh. A bit like last season when we depended almost solely on Twigg for goals. We've managed to get them from everywhere this season.

We're missing Foran, Richie Ryan, Jo Ndo and obviously Podge so I don't see anything other than a Shams win.

    Might be missing Boco too.

    :(

Not to mention Electric Picnic is on this weekend. I plan on making a day out of it though, mate is doing a BBQ in his house, few beers watching the Oireland match on the box, then we are gonna stroll back up to Santry for Fingal and Bohs, dragging some non-LOI following friends to this as well.

Never mind Drogs, Bray and Dundalk, all are on bad runs of form, we need a result against Fingal, if we don't get one we an say goodbye, we are already pretty far back, any further and I can't see us catching up.

Looking foward to this one. We have been playing some nice stuff lately but unfortunately we cant defend leads. So dont be too disheartened if you go a goal or two behind (just ask pats fans:o) although Hawkins is finally fit again, so im hoping he will make a difference.
Very important game for both teams, as we are looking for a european place and yous to stay in the title race.

    Can see us lining out

    Kelly

    Keane
    Peers
    Lauchlan---Davoren

Dillon/Ndo if fit O'Grady Russell McCabe

    Doyle Blinkhorn

Decent team but Ryan and potentially Ndo are big losses

But I can see us getting a draw

He rarely leaves the showgrounds without the same send off. Hes a joke. Almost at Richie Winter levels of incompetence.

Ref just booked a Galway player for changing his boots. then copped out on a clear double footed challenge by pats. pats look shaky now.

Yup, there was a period there before the equaliser when ye were ripping through us on the counter. Faherty blazed a sitter over from about three yards out. Ye had a great chance towards the end too, yer right sided player smashed a ball into the side netting when Guy and a few others were waiting in the box. Mahon went cracked!

Delighted with the result. First half, Pat's were the only team in it. Second half, we came out with a bit more bite and put Pat's under a bit of pressure. Still, Pat's will rue two points dropped, they really ought to have put the game to bed. Good for us though with Dundalk and UCD dropping points!

Ref was a joke. Booked Conneelly for changing his boots, amongst some other odd decisions. Really likes to be the centre of attention. And there was a nasty studs-up on Molloy (not sure who) which I thought was a straight red.

Ridiculous performance by Buttimer once again.

Booking a player for changing his boots and making the guys with the stretcher go all the way around the outside of the pitch instead of straight across it when Jamie McKenzie was injured were the highlights.

Sums it up (not really but ya know yourself!), team really feeding off the crowd 2nd half and got the goal. Sligo dominated first half and will definitely feel hard done by but grinding out these kind of results is the sign of....champions?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,957 ✭✭✭The Volt

Yeah performance of champions, winning when not playing well. Sligo deserved at least a draw there. That's what you get for having a ridiculous nickname though in fairness.

Good man Baz, glad to hear you enjoyed yourself, were you in the main stand or east? You certainly got a taste 2nd half of what the atmosphere can be like at Rovers!

Was in the main stand, I was playing in the golf classic yesterdy morning and we got tickets for the Glenmalure for the presentation and that, so had to be in the main.
Brilliant atmosphere in the second half, even our stand was bouncing for a few minutes.:D

Joey N'do is a class act, glad I got to see him play live, tbh.

They were absolutely poison last night!

They were really fired up for the games against Galway (especially the first one. They celebrated the draw liked they'd won the cup).
