On trivial note the stadium it happened in is in Mainz in Germany where Ireland beat Georgia in the WC qualifier in 2008

Anyone know how long Murdoch's crowd have had the rights to show Bundesliga matches?

Maybe this is why more non-traditionally emminent teams are competing for honours these days?

e.g. Schalke, Wolfsburg et al.

this is the second season i believe. They bought out the company that was already showing it so i don't know if that means a better tv deal for German sides. Probably a case of as you were.

A new deal was signed last year when Premiere was re-named Sky DE. The current contract expires after the 2012/2013 season.

Hopefully the league continues to grow and by the 2013/2014 season a Bundesliga TV channel will be feasible.

That's like calling Leeds or Newcastle non-traditional. Schalke is massive and has been for a lifetime. Biggest fanbase in Germany, bigger than Bayern and anyone else for that matter.
