Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

That is moving the goalpost back one step. The idea of panspermia is plausible, but we then are left with the huge problem of where the aliens came from, how they evolved (or didn't?) and how they got to earth? Ockams razor would imply that we should use the simplest solution i.e life arose on earth spontaneously from the materials that coalesced when the planet originally formed.

When and if humans develop the technology to visit other solar systems, and we find primitive lifeforms, surely we will be the aliens then? Surely we'll stick around and perform experiments to see how those lifeforms exist or how they came to be. Perhaps we will be unable to live on this planet due to the atmosphere or something so perhaps we'd genetically engineer a hybrid species like ourselves that can survive on the surface without the need for space suits. How is that so different to my theory? It's simply a matter of time really.

I don't respond well to idle threats.
That warning was not idle in the least. If you feel you've been insulted, use the report post function, or PM me. (Your last reported post was not an insult, btw). I myself have noted the many times you've referred to users here are arrogant, or immature etc.

Otherwise don't question moderation or that will be another reason for ejection.

I hope you don't mind the slight digression for a moment.

In a room of 23 people, how likely is it that any two people will share the same birthday? Just give us a ballpark figure please - doesn't need to be exact.

In a universe of billions upon billions upon billions of planets, what's the likelihood that we are the highest form of life?

I'm terrible at probabilities so excuse me if I can't answer your original question.

Surely this is better suited to a PM convo? If posters act immature with ridiculous posts I'm well within my right to accuse them of being immature.

But you're right, Ill just ignore the post and report it. I don't see what good that will do though, you've obviously taken sides in this debate and I bring your objectivity as a moderator of this forum into question.

    demonspawn temp banned.

Am closing this thread to avoid post-ban heckling.
It may, or not reopen depending on the OP attitude on his return.
