Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Any thoughts? fury hands down? dont know too much about MTB's to be honest!

    Thanks

Dont get a Halfords bike if you are going to actually mountain bike, you will break your feckin neck. Got the wife one and the rear triangle just snapped off, had she been doing what she does now on it she would have been seriously hurt. I took my revenge on it see here.

    Hi,

For the money I dont think you will get better value I just bought one of these today looked at Cubes, Felt, Gts etc etc and could not find anything that came with the same spec.

And just to back this I worked in bike shops for years so have seen all sorts and have built up many custom spec bikes and I still think the quality here is good.

Only thing i would be dubious of is the build quality you are going to get from Halfords so check every nut and bolt is tightened before you take it out on a trail.

If it was a more popular brand you woudl be spending a €grand or more.

Dont mind the label snobs they all come out of the same factory in Taiwan or China.

I am happy with my purchase for €560 you really wont do better.

    Cheers

    Paul

Sorry to hear of your traumatic experience 650Ginge

Could you post a link to some stats for neck breakages due to Halford's poor bike quality please??.:)

Frame failures, though rare nowadays, can happen to any brand of bike, cheap or expensive. Somebody on this forum had a Cervelo fail recently and I saw a Colnago sheared in two halves at the head tube a few months back. With the amount of bikes Halfords sell any serious frame durability issues would become public knowledge very quickly I reckon.

I have a Carrera bike and I have abused the sh1t out of it and it just keeps taking the abuse.

I am not a Halfords apologist and am personally uncomfortable with the faceless multinational aspect of the whole thing but their Carrera range offers excellent value imo.

Their parts and accessories are generally hugely overpriced. (So they can advertise free fitting imo)
