Business lobby group, ISME, called on the Government to "get serious" about the Smart Economy before we become the laughing stock of the developed world.
It said that the poor quality of Ireland's broadband infrastructure is losing Irish firms valuable sales and stopping more small and medium firms from using the Internet to grow, according to the latest ICT survey from business lobby group, ISME

    He's not finished....
In conclusion, Fielding stated, “For too long the sky-high expectations of SME owners have only been met with the prosaic reality of groundhog Government inaction, incompetence and ineptitude. There is a danger that the real Smart Economy has passed us by.” He called for a renewed effort by Government to improve the communications infrastructure through a more focused agenda, with Specific targets, Measurable deliverables, Achievable goals, Realistic outcomes and an announced Timeframe.
