Unless you're connected to a wifi network, yes it is using up your internet allowance on your phone... and not by the minute, but by the megabyte.

Rather than downloading apps for each radion station, you could use TuneIn Radio on the iPhone. It has streams built in for a lot of stations. Far less clutter than all separate apps though I do know that some of the apps have added features but if youjust want to listen, TuneIn is great.

Agreed. While TuneIn is my favourite also, there are a number of apps like that - which are mentioned in the 3rd post in this thread.

I've installed TuneIn but can't access too many Irish stations. 4FM is the only one so far.

Any one know how to get RTE and TodayFm working?

Based on either this, or another recommendation on boards, I downloaded TuneIn and it's absolutely fantastic. Streams for just about any station you'd want (including local and community radio in Ireland).

To thank the developers for developing it, I even upgraded to the Pro version (spending a whole 80 cent ).

Never any problem with me, try deleting and readding did you do a local search on the app and they should be there.

They're all there and show the current show name but the streams just won't load. I'm using an epad transformer so maybe it's something to do with that...some apps for mobiles don't work too well...

    I'll try reinstalling

Tunein is a fantastic app. However I can never use it to listen to the RTE stations. I need to use the RTE Pocket app, which isn't bad, but has some unusual quirks in the android version. Anyone else having the same issues?

Can anyone find me an app so I can listen to RTE radio on my Blackberry?

Sorry to bump a really old thread but is anyone else having trouble listening to 2FM on android? It's really odd, I can listen to every other station perfectly, either on the official RTE app or Tunein but 2FM is nothing but silence on both.

Yeah, it seems to have righted itself. Working fine for me now, must have been a temporary problem with the stream or something. Thanks for checking anyway.

Does TuneIn Radio use up much data?

My Dad loves the app but is afraid to use it away from WiFi because he only uses PAYG topping up about €20 once every 6 weeks or so.

    Thanks

Why to install app if you can listen all irish radio stations online at website. Example: liveradio.ie (with mobile support)

Depends on the bitrate of the stream. As a very rough guide, a 128kb/s stream will use just under 1MB of data per minute.

Thanks, I'll tell him to only use it when in a WiFi area so.
