Title says it all this could be a good way of getting to know a few people before we start. always nice to recognise a face in a crowd
anyway im Gavin, 20 years old, from wexford, second attempt at this college thing. really looking forward to starting.

I'm Nicky, 27 from Meath. First time doing the whole college thing. Should be interesting.

Looking forward to the course now as the more I read up on it the more it appeals to me. The nerves are kinda gone although propbably will flare up again on Thursday.:o

Guy's the best way to get to know people on campus is to join a society. PhotoSoc is made up of 80% CDM students and is the bogs dollix so hope to see you come sign-up day ..Paul

PhotoSoc is a great way to get to know more people!

Also, getting to know the now 2nd years is great! We've just come out of first year, so it will still be relatively fresh, if anybody needs any advice or help with assignments!

you don't need to know how to use a camera at all Tony, thats what the society is all about really... learning, improving and having a Sh!t Load of fun in the process

haha ok thanks Paul, i'll quote you on that one.eh, so where are the societies then? Havent seen the board with the soc info on it so far (maybe i've walked past them but hey-it's my first week so i'm still looking for the proper classrooms).let us know pls guys.even the proper block will help us find it.hate sounding like a fresher,but thats the way it is.

Some advice from you CDM old school please. We have to get ourselves an external portable hard drive asap, and i've been scanning the net and still am not too sure which to go for. I'm looking for a 1TB drive, cause willing to pay the extra bit instead of getting 500GB now, and another down the road.Was looking at the seagate version,but reviews about an internal 'clicking noise' doesn't make it too appealing.What do you guys use (or used in 1st yr). Can you give me a few ideas on best/decent drives please.Usb 2.0 and own power supply required which should narrow it down.cheersis.

Ok Signup day is next Wednesday in the Sports hall from 9-2. all the societies will be represented. you'll find me at the PhotoSoc Table (that'll be one with the BIG trophy on it) *Pats himself on the back* clubs and socs info from itsu.ie or pop up to see Diarmuid (Clubs and Socs Officer) in the Student Union Office at the top of the stairs in C block. all PhotoSoc info re meetings etc. will be mailed to members and there will be posters all over campus etc. Also keep an eye in the Photography Club Thread on here
