Nice to see him still going ok in portugal.

Hopefully he can go under par on back nine too - small change of a top 20.

Bright blue sky overhead so I figured the weather might hold up. Quick breakfast and off I went. I got about 200 yards down the road when it started to rain. A slight shower, I thought. Next thing, it starts to absolutely bucket down so hard that it's bouncing back up off the road.

So I've decided to watch the golf from the comfort of my apartment. :( I know that makes me a wuss, but I didn't come prepared for this type of weather. Hope my absence from the gallery doesn't upset Padraig too much.

I feel so sorry for you & your family for being on holidays in that crap weather never mind not being able to watch the golf!

    Thanks Charlie

But we love the Algarve and the bad weather doesn't totally ruin the holiday. Sure, it would be great to have consistent sunshine like we normally do, but it's still a great place to be. So we're going to enjoy our time over here, come what may.

Hope you managed to enjoy a bit of the golf as well....enjoy the rest of your stay.

Not a massive jump but he's up to 311th this week. At least it's going in the right direction for a change.

    Back down to 325th now.

    Back down to 325th now.

At that end of the list, there are often big jumps in positioning from week to week, given everyone has so few points anyway. I woldn't be overly concerned about that move down the list.

Maybe, but best nip it in the bud just in case. ;)

Is that 20:40 our time so? Might see some late coverage.

No we are GMT so 19:40 is when he starts. They mightn't cover him at all

Yeah I checked it is 19:40 our time. 18:40 GMT ;-)
He doesnt have a top draw, probably wont see him unless he goes low unfortunately.
Was it a sponsors invite he got into the field?
A few top 10s state side would do him the world of good.
Such a shame we wont see him in any of the final series events over here.

Perhaps it's been mentioned but I didn't notice, is Paddy on invites or is he using his one time exemption for 2015?

My stuff for sale on Adverts inc. EDDI, hot water cylinder, roof rails...

Did he not say he would not be using that this season?

An event like that in Vegas would have no issue inviting a 3 time major winner and I wouldn't be surprised if he got in on last years rankings no matter how bad. It's not that strong a field.

1 over after 3 holes. It's a low scoring field so anything under par during the two rounds should get him past the cut. Bad second shot on the 11th left him with a lot of work to do so he did well to only bogey.

I think his finish in the money list for 2014 gets him into certain lesser events, he is playing four of the next five weeks over there and planning on using the seven allowed sponsors invites spring time.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,159 ✭✭✭mrkiscool2

Back-to-back birdies to put him -1 after 8. He's also got two of the hardest 3 holes down.

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,028 ✭✭✭gladrags

    Birdied 16&17

    -1

Just dropped a shot on 3 to go back to level par. Dropped from tied 41st to tied 77th!
