they usually show coverage untill 11pm,,

They are at the mercy of NBC who are covering it in the US so I doubt there will be any extension.

This weather delay has the potential of being a huge lucky break for Padraig and the other players who were out early yesterday. Yesterday's late starters are having to play most of their second round in the afternoon and the other half of the field will get to play most of their second round tomorrow morning.

Let's hope he can capitalise on his good fortune. It could be just the catalyst that's needed to kickstart his season.

Why would it be a positive that he'd have to finish his round tomorrow?

Because the weather tends to be a lot calmer in the morning than in the afternoon.

I'd love to see Padraig do well here and conditions stay hard.

On the point of Padraig not being a low low guy.
Not being able to go low low - is going to be a real struggle in PGA tour.

You can't really argue with facts

Padraig lowest round this year is 68 - Rank 226
Padraig scoring average is 72.2 - Rank 200
    Birdie Average 3.5 - Rank 145

SO he had a great round in conditions that suited him - I'm delighted

But the top 5 in this event on this course last year had these scores.

    1 1 Henley, Russell -8 F +2 64 68 68 72 272
    T2 1 Knox, Russell -8 F +1 70 63 68 71 272
    T2 1 McIlroy, Rory -8 F +4 63 66 69 74 272
    T2 3 Palmer, Ryan -8 F -1 68 66 69 69 272
    5 4 Hurley III, Billy -7 F -1 70 67 67 69 273

The guys that win events (TYPICALLY) - have low low in them -
You have low low in you because you can score birdies nearly 4.5 per round.

Yes you can have a great career - win majors even.

But with the stats Padraig has now - it will be very hard over there.

He will need a major major step up in scoring average to even make cuts.

So - will see how his scoring is over next few events. Hopefully another few in the 60s - as these kids have 60 in them all the time - you shouldn't be on US Tour if you haven't got one in you every day. (IMO)

With the stats he has now obviously he's going nowhere...sure he missed the first three cuts, has lost his card etc. The point is that yesterday was a normal day and he put in the third best score. if he regains the form he had that form is plenty good enough to put him back where he was challenging. The fact that he was never a low low guy was of no consequence in his prime, and that would remain the case if he regained the kind of stats he had.

Is it only me who can't do that. I always scroll straight to the bottom and then start scrolling up hoping that I dont see the irish players until we're near the top. Thought I'd missed Padraig today. Great round.

I love doing that. Like you I was dreading I'd missed Padraig yesterday.

Fair point. I suppose it'll partly depend on how well he's playing, if he was going along nicely he probably would want to get through the full round.

Great to see padraig flying the tricolour on the leaderboard as my five year old pointed out to me (had to remind him that was padraig harrington who he was partly named after:)).
This feels like we are waiting for the final round of a major d'ont know if i'll be able take the pressure. was thinking for a bit of extra excitment we could post our prediction for total score after rd two.
    1. -3 or better (the optomist:D)
    2. -2 to +2
    3. +3 or worse:(
i'll sit on fence and go for option 2.

I'm going for option 1! Really looking forward to it tonight, it's the first bit of golf I'll have seen him play in a good while.

Wonder how much of his round he'll get played today. It looks as if early in the day the weather is calm, so he might be lucky. That said, not much of a flutter on the flags right now.

Better chance of getting a bus.

    No all joking aside.

A good debate - for genuine fans to have - of what is back and what is realistic ?

    Good start.
