Disappointing to see him finish with two short missed putts, but overall a much better round than yesterday. Hopefully, next week will be steadier.

Considering his schedule going in to the masters a weekend off will do no harm.

Good point...to his credit I think he's honouring his sponsor invites so maybe it's a blessing in disguise...

    Check out @VC606's Tweet: https://twitter.com/VC606/status/577720121910775808?s=09

Not sure if that link works, but basically a Happy St. Pats day message letting us know that a win would see Paddy rise to 34th (Shane to 18th)

Link wouldn't work for me, but I like the sound of this!

Nice interview with Caroline Harrington on John Murray show on RTE radion 1 this morning......said he never gives up, and that this last win was a real life changer for him.

    Yep.
Tees off at 12.56 local time which is just before five over here I think

Started off with 5 straight pars.

Just 3 putted the 16th (his 7th) after being on the green in two. Missed birdie putt of under 4 feet.

    Nice birdie on 18

another bird on the first - Go ahnn Paddy

Birdie at the par 5 4th puts him in a tie for 13th. Going along very nicely today.

He is loving the big putts these days. Drained an 18 footer on the 4th for another birdie. 3 under and two off the lead.

-3 now and only 2 off the lead, confidence is obviously back!

Good par from the bunker there.

Great stuff. Jaysus - that is a lot of water.

Great shot - and a more aggresive line.

Will be interesing to see line - of biggest hitters on that hole.

Could Rory knock it straight over the water to the green? How far is it?

Back to a few weeks ago.

Now this IS the time you go for a par 5 - from that far out. Aim at bunker right.

Was 1/2 thinking that - but wouldn't say so - a wedge out maybe ?

Luck of the Irish right there!

    Nice bounce!!!

I'd bet a thousand euro Padraig gets up and down at 6 after bouncing back into play from the rocks :D

I'm trying to see Podge's line which is equal to 311 yards and measure it from tee to green. Just based on that picture I think if McIlroy got everything out of it he might do it but probably would never risk it.

Hit a rock and got away with it!

  • Registered Users Posts: 20,888 ✭✭✭✭FixdePitchmark

Was looking and trying to work out - why remaining holes are so hard.

The distances of the par 4s is a bit sick.

    460 - 474 yard par 4 holes

How do these lads do it - not to mention - fair play Padraig.

  • Registered Users Posts: 657 ✭✭✭irishash

Up and down off the rocks. Go on padraig. -4 now.

  • Registered Users Posts: 20,888 ✭✭✭✭FixdePitchmark

OK we can't say he is back anymore.

    We need new songs.

looks like he is moving away from -3 ,,

    3 under is boring.

Jaysus - that wasn't great - wouldn't mind an easy enough hole as holes coming.

Anyway - no panic lads - the new mantra for Padraig thread,

    "No Panic"

72 holes in a PGA event.

well sometimes ,74 after much much PANIC
