Starting to fancy a run at one or more of the majors. British Open this year could be very interesting!

I fancied that - even at his lowest point.

Like, look at lads that have had a run in Open.

    Shane too this year.

I do hope I'm not jinxing it, but it'll be wonderful to see a round from Padraig without a bogey on the card!

I'd love to see Padraig and Rory battle it out there. Although I feel Rory would have too much if he was playing well. Be interesting to see how Podge gets on at Augusta. He'll be confident enough but plenty of banana skins there for him.

Great drive at the last, one more birdie perhaps?

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,425 ✭✭✭Pierce_1991

12 foot for birdie at the last, great stuff. Even a par is a good result.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,483 ✭✭✭BoardsMember

12ft for birdie for a very lovely looking card, despite some people trying to put the mockers on him!!

Good stats from PH today, 312 avg drive and 72% green in reg, that's good golf

On the basis that he deserved a pass last week, I'd say it more like "he's still there"! Great round...hopefully a solid round tomorrow to stay in contention...

Is there a cut this week?

As far as I am aware, this is no cut in a WGC event

This isn't a WGC event is it? I'd be surprised if there was no cut with a field of 120 players.

Cut ok, top70 & ties, based on R1 scores, should be -1 or so.

Been listening to some of Harros interviews after his win including radio stations, tubridy etc. One big plus IMO is the fact that most people on here suggested he should move to the European Tour to try and build confidence (myself included) and Harro himself said it nearly got to that stage but now, in hindsight, I am absolutely delighted he didn't. I know the European Tour is closest to home and a lot of people feel it's our tour, but to be honest it's a bit of a joke! I regularly follow every tour and have a flutter on each tour every week and combine them at tiny stakes for a massive payout (even the LPGA tour) so even at the absolute minor events I have a keen interest. But on the European Tour everything from the commentary, to the course conditions (greens), to the quality of play, pale in comparison to the PGA Tour and maybe even the LPGA Tour for commentary and conditions at this time of year. This week is a complete joke. After a nightmare event last year they left the Madeira Islands event on the schedule and they still haven't played a hole yet! The Indian event a few weeks ago was like a monthly medal at my local club. There are a few good European Tour events but they don't normally start until the middle of the summer and at the end of the year. Even the website is better with shot tracker, which is superb for the die hard follower, even if it has the odd error!

Honestly, digesting Harringtons return to the winners circle has been so, so sweet and IMO, this is one of the biggest bonuses for us!
