Very poor start. These first few holes really determined whether he would challenge or fight to make the cut! 2 and 3 are birdie holes but it looks like hes gonna play the first 3 in 2 over! Very disappointing!

The par 4s seem to be his big difficulty over the two rounds - think 3 of his bogies yesterday came on those

However - it really looks a tricky course imo - and in terms of his future performances - I wouldn't read too much into the performance here tbh.

Hes made mistakes - and tbh - while hoping for the best - I felt something like this could be on the agenda.

Hes trying his best - its just not working at the moment - but that's the nature of the sport

Cut will most likely be at either 1 or 2 over so he needs to pick up at least one shot from now, 3 would make absolutely sure

That should give him a boost, right get the head together, halfway through, you only need two good holes coming in and job's a good un.

Hes having a nightmare - but hes had them before - will have them again.

Thing we need to remember - is that 3 months ago - this was NOT on the cards

In January he had

1) No card

2) No hope of even being here (think about that for a moment)

Now

Has exemption (card) for 2/3 years

Is here at the Masters - albeit having a bad day today.

A bad day was always a possibility - and like I say - I really wouldn't read much into a bad performance at this course - in terms of predicting future performances
