I wonder if he'll be paired with Tiger tomorrow. Could be a featured group on Sky red button.

That would have been interesting, but unfortunately it seems more likely it will be Louis Oosthuizen.

I always hope for the best for Padraig but much of this thread is like a bloody self-help group in fairness. All it is is somebody playing bloody golf!

Couldn't agree more. Some posters psycho analysing every aspect of his golf

Nice - that's a difficult hole imo - im shot tracking with Mc Dowell and he (Mc Dowell is moving to that hole now - so its showing on the shot tracker

ST says a 5ft for birdie on the 12th.

    PGA tour ST says par?

    Shot 5 in the hole
Shot 4 29 ft to green, 13 in. to hole
Shot 3 56 yds to right fairway, 28 ft to hole
Shot 2 197 yds to left rough, 47 yds to hole
Drop in right rough, 225 yds to hole
Shot 1 298 yds to right rough, 224 yds to hole

Somethings not right with shot tracker guys.

Its telling me that after shot 1 he took a drop at the 2nd shot.

It then counts AFTER the drop - shot 2 - shot 3 shot 4 - and in the hole at shot 5 - but its showing him as having parred the hole.

Either its wrong in saying he took a drop - or else he got a bogie at 16

Unless it was a free drop for some reason....?

Yes - but if the info you've provided above is correct - it should be a bogie

My apologies - but what does a free drop mean - and what circumstances can one take one of those?????

    Thank you

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,806 ✭✭✭Old diesel

Well shot tracker is now showing shot 1 at 17 as having bought him to a green 43 ft from the hole????

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 9,622 ✭✭✭Ruu

Some circumstances, players can get free drop (sometimes called free relief from certain obstructions, sprinkler, damage to ground, etc)

    Tis a par 3 (17th).

Well that would explain why he was showing as 225 yrds from the hole when the ball from the first shot was 224 yrds - that would suggest he was allowed take the shot from the location at 225 yrds from the hole.

It just seems TOO NICE for us Padraig followers though - I keep thinking they are going to update that to a bogie.

Mind you - given the rest of the round to date - a bogie is still perfectly acceptable.

Yes - your right about the 17th - very tricky hole that incidentally and thus im happy he parred that

Does anyone know how WR points are doled out? Wasn't expecting much for PH yesterday but he has made such a jump today, anything for top 50 or thereabouts?

I asked that here earlier in the thread - and I thought the answer was 52nd plus ties.

However - that may not be correct
