Edit - apologies for not knowing who the chap with her is

as far as I can make out yes - as I think Joanne said something about his shot at 17th while they were talking.

Nature of the beast I guess.

    Doing lovely though so far

And we are now off for a 10 minute break for Nuacht

Youd think for the one few days of the year they show golf - they could just man up and suspend Nuacht for the day :D

He is not in the worst of spots on 17th, hit it to the back of the green (not on the surface) I think.

Sure that nuacht is all Dutch to me

Very nearly made a difficult putt from off the green for birdie on 17... taps in for par.

Solid play on 17. Up and down for par.

Me too - hence why I think they should just be kind and suspend it for the day :D

10 minutes suspension on Golf viewing is just not acceptable :D

    Classic Paddy :D

Can't wait to hear him tell us about how the injury distracted him mentally and allowed him to get out of his own way...

That man's brain, is it the source of all his achievements or all his failings?

Nice drive down par 5 18th.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,806 ✭✭✭Old diesel

    Jimmy Bruen good on ya

"The course record at Royal County Down is 66 set by Ireland’s first golfing superstar Jimmy Bruen in the opening round of 1939’s Irish Open. This was the last time that Royal County Down hosted the Irish Open, some 76 years ago, and his record remains intact. Jimmy, who was born in Belfast in 1920 but grew up and learned his trade in Cork, led the field after the first 36 holes but couldn’t hold on as the tournament was eventually won by England’s Arthur Lees. With this year’s amazing field, led by World Number One Rory McIlroy, it will be very interesting to see if Jimmy’s record will still be standing come Sunday evening’s trophy presentation!"

    I'm very surprised about above.

Outside of Comp I'd say it has been taken ? - but perhaps back sticks are not in play much at all.

Won't see much of Padraig tomorrow. Teeing off at 750 and coverage not until 12 frown.png

Just heard them talking about it there on the Golf Channel, sounded pretty shocked aswell.

It is Reeve Whitsons home course and he has apparently shot 63 and 66, though I don't know if they were in competition or off the back tees. Amazing that the record has lasted so long.
