    a poker of 6s .

But we all know this is not Padraig's thing. So hopefully his rest day is a 70 day 3 and a low one sunday. :)

I hope your hopeful prediction of 70 is right now!

When you look at the scores being posted, +2 is a poor effort so far. On moving day Harrington is moving in the wrong direction again.

Into the drink on 13. Challenge gone it would seem. Hopefully he can sort his game out for tomorrow and have another top 10 or maybe a top 5

Was thinking a level par round today and low Sunday. Didnt think his bad round would be this bad.

Managed to save par after finding water. Maybe there's hope yet.

You're always waiting on the 7 with Padraig of late.
Hoped he would challenge in this today and maybe wrap it up tomorrow but it's not to be.

71, would not be end of the world. He could top 5 from there.

I can see him outside the top 30 to be honest ... not only is he going the wrong direction, but others are scoring low.

Maybe, he said he is not playing well.

But hope he can pull one good one Sunday.

Another fluffed chip. Over 10 feet short from 16 yards to the hole.

And it looks like he sank the putt, thankfully!

Its still possible only 10 under could lead by the end here. 6 under wouldnt be totally out of it and how about 1 birdie for 7 under? That might put him back in it

If he shot level par today he would still have been bang in there. Currently being outplayed by his illustrious playing partner Tag Ridings (who?).

In fairness, it would appear as though his short game has been really good today. He seems to have had to get up and down in two for par from 60ft or more on nearly every hole. To be only +2 from the positions he's put himself in is actually very good.

Nobody is going low? Nobody in the final groups that is.

Leader at -11..If only you'd shot par Paddy..

Watson aside, which leaderboard are you looking at?

Great putt on the last for par. Padraig only 4 behind. Could figure yet.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,296 ✭✭✭Martin567

I'm not sure if some of the distances on shot tracker are correct. If they are, Padraig seems to have been really conservative off the tee and this is where his difficulties started today. Even on medium length par 4 holes, he has had over 200yds for his approach because his tee shot has only gone about 240yds.

The lead started at 10 under. What score is it now? Harrington despite playing atrociously is still only 4 back. Unless Bubba birdies the last. Hes still in this? Bubba mahan reed bradley simpson gainey ridings harrington wer all the final groups. Not one broke par!

    Disappointing day for Padraig.

A par round would have been decent with only 2 players in the last 6 groups below par for the day. Not to be though. Played so poor though that 72 was almost a relief for him id say.

Tough course at the weekend for the leaders, 2 of the last 3 years the winners has come from 6 back after 54 holes. P.H aside it should be good viewing tomorrow (Currently 31 within 6 :D)

I'd say he's looking at the correct one. Nobody in the last few groups today has shot any better than par.

On an aside, that little wife of Patrick Reed has carried that heavy bag and she a wee slip of a thing.
Does anyone know the exact rule about caddies having to carry the bag and how it originated? It seems mad in this day and age that they couldn't use a trolley.

Tag birdied the last so looks like they'll be out together again tomorrow :)

Strong legs but, she could pull a plough that one.

Are you off your trolley :D

Seriously though with crowds and course set ups it would probably cause headaches for tournament organisers if they had to allow ways for caddies to pull trolleys around the greens.

I honestly can't see a great problem with it at all. There are always paths cleared through the crowd for them anyway. I know the caddies can carry the bags across the greens and that is probably the only reason they are not allowed to use trolleys as they would have to leave then on the pathway to the next tee-box and would not be available to help the golfer for a few extra seconds.

Yes they walk straight off the green through the gap left in the crowd. It mightn't be such a straight forward passage with a trolley trying to avoid green, bunkers, water hazards and possibly greenside rough.

Just looking at Padraig's stats, he only hit 7 greens in regulation today. In the circumstances, 2 over is not that bad a score.
