Not without a chance but the odds are probably against. He needs the scoring to be more difficult this afternoon. Currently T92 so needs 22 players to drop down to +6. This is possible as there are lots of players on +4 & +5 who haven't even started yet.

It should be clearer in about 3 hours what way the scoring is going. He probably deserves a bit of luck at this stage. If he misses the cut, it will be his third event in a row to miss by one.

Course is brutal, +6, might just sneak in.

It's only going to get worse too, would be very surprised if +6 doesn't make the cut. Harrington finished late yesterday and still climbed about 20 places from the time he finished to the end of play.

    Squeaky bum time

    Only if it's clean

Looks much more likely now that +6 will make the cut. When Padraig finished 2.5 hours ago, he was T92. He is now T81 with nearly 6 hours play remaining. That trend will hardly reverse now.

Yes will most definitely make cut, and deserves to, played well and wouldhave been at least 4 shots better if his putter had behaved. A nice early start tommorow and hopefully shoot 68 or better.

tied 59 now, that should make the cut.

50:50 chance he'll be playing with Garcia tomorrow. Should be fun!

He should be within the top 50 by the end of the play.

    Just top 70 and ties.

In standard European Tour events, it's top 65 and ties. PgaTour is top 70 professionals and ties. Are they playing PgaTour rules for the Open?

The R&A play to their own criteria so if it happens to be the same as some-one's else's, then so be it. The USGA do the same for the US Open.

Hope we see a bit more of him than the birdie putt they showed on the first day.

we've seen a bit more today, but drop shots unfortunately.

Is there a real rift between him and Sergio? or is the subject just brought up because he beat him out of two Majors.

Pod was on red button BBC first nine holes. Awful stuff after first two holes, needs a break.

    Needs a good psychologist.

I think it is too much time with one of them that is doing the damage..

Nice round by Padraig today, 2 holes left,-1.

Unless he birdies the last it will be a week where he hasnt birdied 1 par 3 or par 4. don't know if he's ever done that in his career!!!!! looking at his stats he's actually hit a lot of greens so it's clear the putter was at fault yet again!

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,590 ✭✭✭Speak Now

He was 4th in fairways hit after 2 rounds. Followed him during first 2 rounds. Very good tee to green. Long putts decent, 4 to 10 foot range was hard to watch. Zero belief that he would actually hole anything.

Yep, putting let him down, but good signs this week.

And Tiger is No. 1 in the world, and Padraig has now gone to 75 in the world, and dropping rapidly

Not sure about rapidly, he was 90th at the start of last season and 59th at the start of this season. 75th is near enough his mean for the last 2 years.
