    Hi Soldsold

Check this out, the Philips 42PFL5405H, a 42" LCD TV.
    http://www.philipsshop.ie/Spec%20Sheets/42pfl5405h_05_pss_eng.pdf

    Good range of features,
    100Hz refresh rate
    2ms response time,
1080p Full HD but does a good job with SD programing as well.

This TV has been reduced to €699.99 (from €799.99)

I have 'em instore and on display should you wish to run your eye over it.

    Cheers
    Ash

    Hi soldsold.

Here at RicherSounds Belfast we could offer the:

Philips 40PFL5605 for just £599.95 / 749.95 Euro (Brand New Boxed)
    https://www.richersounds.ie/asp/product.asp?ObjectID=930&Mode=0&productid=1071&Results=true&keys=philips

Delivery on this screen would be £29.95

If you could make a trip to Belfast you could also pick up the LG 42LE5300 for the same price of £599.95 / 749.95 Euro (Brand New Boxed)
    http://www.richersounds.com/product/led-tv/lg/42le5300/lg-42le5300

We also have one of the Sharp LC42CT2E priced at £499.95 / 624.99 Euro (Brand New Boxed)
    https://www.richersounds.ie/asp/product.asp?ObjectID=930&Mode=0&productid=1070&Results=true&keys=sharp
Again delivery on this screen would cost £29.95.

Thanks for the replies, might be too much for him though so if ye had a minute to let me know what ye have in 32 inch I'd appreciate it. Refresh rates and response time etc are not important, just to avoid the blocky squares on the old LCD tv's as it will be 100% standard definition rte etc he will be watching.

    Cheers,

    steve

    Thanks Ash,

I was in one of the high street stores today and 32 inch lcds are starting well under 400 euro... 'Is this tv worth the extra and why not just get the cheaper ones' is what I'll be asked if I suggest it...

I was thinking more along the lines of (ie price of ) this:

    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2056022438

My uncle lives in Arizona and comes home a few times a year, house was flooded in the winter so his tv is kaput so looking for something cheap to replace it with.

If you can convince me the more expensive 32 inch you listed above is worth it I'll pass it on and get back to you.

    Cheers!

    Hi Sold.

The 32PFL5405 is a great TV and it's hard to comment on the new one that's coming in at £299.95 as it's a new one to us so it's one that I haven't seen yet.

The price that we now have on the 32PFL5405 is £329.95 so there's only £30 in it.

If that's the one you were talking about then I can't really comment until I see it, but at £329, the 32PFL5405 is a seriously good TV for the money. Much better than any of the Samsung's or LG's at the same sort of money.

    Cheers

    Dave
