The Irish times on the record blog has the following today
The rumour: The National to play three nights in Dublin’s Olympia from December 2 to 4. Reckon you’ll be hearing a lot more EP acts announcing autumn/winter indoor shows in the next day or two.

It fits their schedule and the olympia is available on those days, will be a quick sell out

Ya that's been doing the rounds without being officially confirmed for a couple of months now... Def have to get tickets!

Yeah Matts been saying this for a while alright!

Great its actually happening, incredible live band!
I'm not long back from seeing them at Electric Picnic, there were really great, although the brutal sound engineer took alot away from the gig, shockingly bad!,

The times I've seen them before have been very special tho!

How quick do you reckon this is going to sell out?
Wasn't able to make it to EP so don't want to miss this!

I'd say there would be one gig intially then 2 added sooner after the 1st goes on sale. I don't think Interpol's 3 Olympia gigs have completely sold out so that might be an indicator that you'd have a good chance of getting tickets.

Good stuff! Ive been checking the National's website religiously over last while looking for updates but figured there wouldn't be announcement til after EP.

Lot of good bands coming to Dublin in December!

Olympia is free 2,3,4th so it looks good.

Just have to make sure i get tickets for the 3 or 4th, can't make second as Belle and Seb.

I can see this being the best week for gigs - National, Belle and Seb, Interpol and Arcade Fire. And that's just off the top of my head!

I'm going to see both Interpol and Arcade Fire and if the National do play that will indeed be 3 fantastic gigs in a week.

According to McLoone they'll be about the same again I think.

30 for Circle, a bit less for Standing or Upper Circle.

(That's approx, I can't remember exactly what he quoted)

Incidentally - Paul McLoone gave away the first two tickets tonight - did anyone catch the name of the winner?

I think it was Jefferey Lebowski - unlucky dude.

Cant find the tickets on ticketmaster. Whats going on like. Anyone else having trouble?

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,055 ✭✭✭JJ

I wonder if people are waiting for the 1st night to sell out to then buy tickets on the supposed Fri or Sat gigs.

  • Registered Users Posts: 772 ✭✭✭X-Calibre

Standing completely sold out in 1 minute? Surely not... I really don't want to buy a seating ticket... Do I take the risk and wait for another date?
