If you set up a standing order from one of your accounts to another what happens if the money isn't there on the day? Do incur a charge? or will it try again in a few days time?

your bank will charge you if funds not available, the amount will be in the terms and conditions of your bank account, which should be available online. . They will not try again in few days.
